The waves were hitting the nearest rock a little and the wind was suitably warm. It was summer in the city of Forks and there had been plenty of sunny days. I opened my eyes and the sun was shining brightly so I had to squint them again. I could hear the waves hitting the rock and everything was clear.

"Come on dreamer are you hungry?" I turned my head and saw Leah smiling at me, opening a picnic basket. I quickly glanced to my side to see Jacob kicking the ball with little Seth. I smiled widely and looked back at Leah who took some bread from the basket and soon shouted to the boys.

Jacob and Seth quickly ran towards us and I opened my arm to Seth who came for a hug. "It's really nice that you're back again." Seth spoke taking the sandwich Leah gave him. "Yes, we're going to have a fun summer." Jacob spoke with his mouth full of bread and Leah rolled her eyes. "Don't talk food in your mouth Jake." She said and handed me the sandwich.

"It must be nice to babysit Seth during the days." Jake laughed and I laughed out loud too. "You get us on the deal." I answered and Leah gave a small smile looking away.

"Why didn't your sister come along?" Seth asked lifting his head and I shrugged. "I don't really know, she hasn't seen our dad for many years. Dad also asks, but.." I answered and Leah nodded.

"Fewer children to look after." Leah commented out loud and Jacob narrowed his eyes. "I'm not a kid I'm eleven and Rory is thirteen." He mumbled and I laughed out loud.

"Yeah and more space for me at home." I said and got up. "Shall we go swimming?" I asked and Jacob was the first to run. "The last one in the water is a rotten egg!" He screamed and threw his shirt away. "Hey! Stealth!" I screamed and soon ran after throwing my clothes off leaving my bikini on.

I laughed out loud and glanced behind me at Seth, who threw his shirt in Leah's face and ran after yelling at us.

Jacob was the first in the water and I was the second, we watched together as Seth came to the edge of the water and stopped. " "What's wrong?" Jake asked and Seth muttered aloud. "The water is cold."

"It's not, come on!" I screamed and floated on my back for a moment with my eyes closed. Soon though, I opened them and watched as Seth screamed and Jacob chased him down the beach.

I carefully burst out laughing as I saw Leah roll her eyes and Jake caught Seth and carried him into the water. I swam closer to the boys and together we watered Seth, who complained of the cold. "See now it's not cold anymore." I said and Seth showed his tongue.

"One day it would be amazing to jump off that cliff into the water." Jacob spoke and pointed to a rock that was further away. "Jake that's really high." Seth said and Jacob got a grin. "Maybe because you're such marshmallow."

"And I'm not!" Seth exclaimed and I smiled at them. "You are." I joined in and we playfully bullied Seth.

After a while, we turned to look at the beach when a group of four arrived at La Push beach. Leah waved at one of them who waved back. "Who is that to whom Leah greeted?" I asked curiously and Jake glanced at the group. "He's Sam Uley, I think he and Leah have a buzz." Jake said and Seth frowned. "What does that mean?"

"That means he's making out with your sister." I answered and Seth's expression changed. "Eew disgusting!" He exclaimed and Jake began to imitate with his lips.

We were at the beach for a few hours when we soon left, it was almost three in the afternoon and my dad was waiting for me at home. "Are you sure you can ride home?" Leah asked and I nodded taking my bike in the Clearwaters' yard. "I can ask mom to take you." She continued and I shook my head. "No need, I want to ride a bike."

"Ride carefully!" Leah yelled and I waved at Seth and Leah who were standing in the doorway.

I ride humming the song a little loudly, I had already reached the road which was quiet. Luckily for me, the trip wasn't terribly long. I looked up at a flock of birds that suddenly took flight from the forest. I looked around at the forest and the road. In the distance, there were two deer who looks like they ran for their lives.

"What the hell." I spoke out loud. It was like something out of a horror movie, like something was about to happen.

I sped up and flashed to my side and behind. I turned my gaze back forward only to see a truck coming around the corner at high speed. My heart stopped and I widened my eyes in horror.

I closed my eyes and stopped pedaling. I felt myself fly off the bike and hit the ground. I felt a small pain in my knee and opened my eyes to see a truck driving by and a bike further away on the side of the road.

I looked around in confusion and tried to get up. My hands were a little bloody and dirty from the grass. My other knee had taken a hit from the ground and was shaking when I put weight on it. I finally got to a stand and looked around at the quiet road and forest.

I quickly went to pick up the bicycle from the ground and jumped on it and pedaled home.

I threw the bike next to the porch and went through the door. Dad was sitting on the couch when I walked into the living room and he looked up from the newspaper. "My god what has happened to you Rory?" He asked glancing at me and I shrugged as I sat next to him.

"The truck came at high speed around the bend and was about to hit me." I explained and saw dad's eyes widen. "Good thing you had your guardian angel with you." Dad sighed in relief and ruffled his hair, looking at the coffee table.

"It was as if something had pushed me off the top of my bike." I mumbled out loud and looked at dad who was spinning his head. "I'm going to keep the speed control there in the future."
