Be Mine

Obanai POV

I awoke to the chirping of birds outside my window. My hand gently brushed across my face as I acclimated to the morning light."Was that real?" I murmured.

Flashbacks of yesterday's events fill my head. I throw my head back, letting my long hair fray along my face.

A laugh then escapes my lips at the realization.

"I love her" my voice husked.

deciding I should get ready for the day, I push off my bed and go to my nightstand to wrap bandages around my mouth. A mirror catches my attention as I take a look at my body. I notice slight scratch marks along my torso. Trailing my fingers along the markings caused by a certain love hashira.

Mitsuri

How can I expect to concentrate today after the events of yesterday? I find it difficult to even dress myself suitably.

As I step out of my bedroom, my feet touch the chilly wooden floor. A faint flush appears on my cheeks as I realize I was not alone this morning.

"Hehe good morning Obanai Kun! You were sleeping so I decided to make us breakfast!" Mitsuri chirped.

'How could I have forget she stayed the night' a smile forms on my face

"Good morning" I respond eyeing her in my clothes.

"Sounds amazing" I say before moving to hug her from behind.

Time skip

"Kamado Tanjiro, you're hesitating," I mentor angrily. For one, I was already pissed off with him hanging out with Mitsuri. But now I'm more angry at his fighting style.

However.. I could use this as a chance to get back at him

A thought corrupts my mind as an evil smirk rests on my face.

"Hehehe"

"AH!" Tanjiro exaggeratedly yelled in fright, stepping back taking notice of my changed expression.

"Iguro-San, your evil laugh threw me off..." his voice spoke.

Tsk

"Shut up"

After a lengthy day of training, I found myself seated on my patio. The warmth from the cup of hot tea in my hand provided a comforting sensation. My attention was drawn to the stars twinkling above.I find myself missing her, even though it has merely been a couple of hours. With a sigh escaping my lips, I took another sip of tea. My peace is suddenly disturbed as my surroundings faded into darkness.

"Surprise!" exclaimed a cheerful feminine voice from behind me, as her hands gently covered my eyes.

"Mwah"

Slight wetness becomes present on my cheek.

"Mitsuri?" I gently ask, my voice barely above a whisper.

If it had been anyone else, the outcome wouldn't of been nice. Yet, with her, I find myself drawn closer to her presence.

"You got it!" she exclaims with a lighthearted laugh, letting go of my eyes. Due to the loss of touch, I instinctively take her hand and place it once more against my cheek.

"I missed you," I murmur, leaning into her touch."I-I missed you as well," she replies, her voice stammering

The corners of my mouth rise at this moment, and hers follows suit. A soothing silence envelops us, and she soon shifts her attention to the stars above. I mirror her actions, occasionally stealing glances at her calm expression.

She is undeniably charming.

A vision of a possible life together dances in my mind. Could such a reality truly exist given our current circumstances? A sense of uncertainty courses through me. A warm home, children, and waking up next to the person I love most.

please let me be happy for once.

"Obanai kun," she interrupts my thoughts by leaning her head on my shoulder. I wrap my arm around her in response.

"Hm?" I hum.

"Do you think we could live together someday?"

I bring my hand towards her face before speaking. Although uncertainty fills my brain, my desire fills my heart.

"Yes, Im sure"

Lowering my bandages to kiss her forehead

"I will stand by you," I conclude, embracing her firmly, anxious that if I release her, she might not return. Our gazes lock before she leans in, our lips brushing for a moment.

"Will you be mine?" I inquire, observing her cheeks flush a vivid crimson.

"Of course, Obanai Kun!" she exclaims joyfully. Our lips meet once more beneath the starlit sky. I tried to burn this moment into my memory with each passing kiss.
