02 - New Lab Rats?

Sakis POV

It's been years since the disappearance of Tsukasa Tenma, my brother and I missed him. I remember waking up to Tsukasa gone and I was scared. Authorities tried to find him but called it an 'Open Case' about a year later.

All of that happened when I was 4, and now I'm 20. Tsukasa is 21 since his birthday hasn't passed. I truly missed him and a lot. But let me tell you whats happened with my life!

I started going to collage with my girlfriend Ichika after highschool. I started at 18! Currently, I'm doing some training in an actual Science center where most research is done, but it mostly focuses on space. My collage dorm is with my girlfriend, obviously, I got a cute adorable kitten which is Suki! Shes only five months and is a really fluffy Calico cat. Nothing too much has happened in my life.

Currently, I was in my dorm making some breakfast for Ichika and I. She was getting dress since I was and decided to make us food today. My stuff was on the counter as I hummed softly, a smile on my face. After a few minutes later, I felt a pair of arms around my waist and a small giggle from behind me, causing me to gasp.

I looked over my shoulder and saw Ichika standing there with a smile on her face. She gave me a peck on the cheek which I flushed a little at before speaking. "A-Ah good morning Ichi!"

"Good morning Saki-chan!"

Ichika was my everything. She did everything in her power to distract me from any negativity─ or Tsukasa... Which sorta worked. But I thought about him everyday.

"I'm making breakfast, just some eggs with toasted bread. The bread is done if you want it, I'm almost done with the eggs!" I chirped out, returning the same energy─ if not more.

Ichika nodded in response and let go of me. Even if it was just for a few seconds, I missed her presences. She grabbed her plate and grabbed two pieces of toasted toast which only caused me to smile more. Her appearance made me smile more as well since we wore the same lab coats and shuff.

I looked back at the eggs and realized that they were ready so I grabbed my own plate and put some in. I turned off the stove and took a step back before speaking. "The eggs are done, Ichi!"

"Mmm, okay! Thank you for breakfast, Saki-chan!"

"Hehe!~ You're welcome!!"

I grabbed my plate and placed the two other pieces of toasted bread on it before sitting down at the table with Ichika. She was grabbing her eggs. I took my phone out and checked the time, only to see that we had 30 minutes left to get to the Science lab!

"Ich-Ich!! We're gonna be late!! We only have thirty minutes!!" I cried out, already stuffing food into my mouth.

Ichika tensed a little bit and she walked back to the table with eggs in her plate before sitting down. She took a bite of her food, swallowed and then spoke. "Then we need to hurry, we cant be late!!"

I nodded in response and continued to eat. Both Ichika and I were practically swallowing more than chewing. I would say that the ratio is about─ 2 to 1 on swallowing and chewing!

Its only been 5 minutes and I'm not even done!!

Huff... Huff... Huff...

"W-We─ We made it!"

"Just in t-time, hurry!"

Ichika and I made in time just by three minutes! That was so much running! We bursted through the doors and caught some peoples attention without intention and quickly went to where we needed to go.

We set out stuff down, I grabbed my clipboard, pen and placed my glasses on. Ichika gave me a peck on the cheek before waving her goodbye, which I returned. I started to walk off until someone tapped on my shoulder, making me turn around.

"Oh, Tenma! I've been looking for you! I'm so glad you're here!"

Dr. Yamatami!!

"Dr. Yamatami, it's nice to see you! Is there something wrong that you need me for?"

"Haha, no, no, of course not! I have a new job for you! Instead of studying stars, I want you to study one of our new lab rats!"

My eyes widen but I quickly composed myself with a nod. "Okay, may I ask where they are?"

Dr. Yamatami nodded and started guiding me which obviously, I followed. He spoke while we walked there.

"It's something new that we've never studied before! This might not sound true, but a couple managed to come across a crashed UFO in the forest with four unconscious species that we will consider as Aliens. They got reported and taken to us so we can study, test and experiment on them! So you and other scientists will study and all that good stuff on them! Dont worry if you dont understand how to do something, just ask for help and someone will eventually come to you!"

That honestly sounded fake. My eyes were wide with shock and surprise and I nodded in response. I was about to speak until we made it into the room.

There was four unconscious Aliens in four different tubs of gooey water and the room was a little dark, the only lights coming from devices, a couple of small blue lights that shined the bottom of the gooey water to make it look blue-ish and Prometheans that were on the wall full of information.

They all had labels on them and were all different. One was pink haired, another was green, then there was a purple haired Alien that had two cyan streaks and then─

His hair looks familiar...

The last one had blonde that faded into a pink-orange...

He looks a lot like Tsukasa...

My heart skipped multiple beats and my breath hitched a little. Why did the last one look like him!? I honestly didnt know, but I didnt question it. The Aliens didnt even look like Aliens, they looked more like humans. They all did. My thoughts got cut off by Dr. Yamatami speaking to me.

"Well here we are! You can study the blonde besides the purple haired one."

I looked at Dr. Yamatami before nodding. He started walking towards the tube so I followed. These tubes were actually big if they could fit an entire body. I put my hand on the tube and looked at the Alien. My mind was focused on how much he looked like Tsukasa

His hair just seemed so similar! My eyes looked him up and down until stopping at his right ear. My heart dropped and my eyes widen at the familiar earing. It looked exactly like mine.

Could it be...?

"Oh well look at that! You two have matching earings! Maybe you're secretly alien!" Dr. Yamatami teased, a chuckle escaping his mouth.

I forced a smile and chuckled a little, my lips twitching a little. I honestly didnt find that funny, if this was my brother I couldn't let them do ANYTHING to him.

Dr. Yamatami gave my shoulder a pat before taking a step back. "I'll leave you to it, Dr. Tenma. Study its looks for right now, we'll do physical contact later!"

Physical contact?! Are you serious?! No! I nodded in response before looking back at the tube and the Alien in it. His clothes was very─ very spacey like.

But any experimenting was the last thing I wanted to hear. In our science lab, physical contact is where they finally experiment and run test on the object or whatever it is. It can including cutting something open, attaching machines to it and ect.

I know this is my brother and its obvious, I'll do anything to keep you safe, Tsukasa.

I forgot the nickname Saki gives Ichika, whoops!1!23!2 Most chapters are gonna be about 1.5k - 2k words and if I end up becoming lazy it'll be shorter.
