goodnight

It's been a few months, and Christmas was around the corner. Percy had decided to go back home for the school year, but Deianira couldn't help missing him.

Life at Camp Half-Blood felt a little quieter, a little sadder without him around. Deianira had grown so used to his presence, his energy, the chaos he brought with him. Now, she found herself alone more often than not. She trained, explored the woods and the beach, but it wasn't the same without Percy.

Even the voices in her head seemed quieter, their constant clamor more of a hum without Percy around to distract her. The days turned into weeks, the holidays approaching. The camp prepared for Christmas, the air filled with excitement and cheer.

But despite all the holiday cheer, Deianira couldn't shake off the feeling of loneliness. Every time she saw happy campers exchanging presents, laughing, her heart ached a little more. She tried to focus on training, on improving her powers, but the absence of Percy kept nagging at her mind.

But one night, a few days before Christmas, she was climbing into bed when the air shimmered. An iris message started forming.

Deianira's eyes narrow as the image of the iris message slowly forms. It's Percy, his face blurry at first but slowly coming into focus. Deianira's heart skips a beat as she rushes closer. "Percy?" she asks, her voice hopeful.

Percy's face comes into focus, a smile spreading across his lips. "Hey, Diya." he says, his voice low and warm.

Deianira feels a wave of relief wash over her, just seeing his face, hearing his voice, it eases some of the loneliness she's been feeling. She sits down on her bed, her eyes glued to the image of Percy in the iris message. "Hey," she replies, "I missed you."

Percy's eyes soften, a hint of sadness in them. "I missed you too," he says quietly. "I've been thinking about you. A lot."

Deianira feels her heart skip a beat at his words. She can see the longing in his face, the way his eyes linger on her. "Have you been busy?" she asks, trying to keep her voice casual.

"Yeah," Percy nods, "School's been really hectic. Plus, the holidays are insane. Everyone's just so noisy and chaotic, it's honestly exhausting."

Deia laughs softly, imagining Percy surrounded by chaotic mortals. "I can only imagine." she says. "It must be tiring dealing with mortals all the time."
