Pacificas POV:

I was just done pouring some new hot coffee into the cups of the police officers, while setting down a plate with two strawberry sprinkle donuts onto their table. The two of them thanked me swiftly before I was called behind the counter by Susan.
"Pacifica, we have a reservation for a party of four soon." I furrowed my eyebrows. A reservation? "For who?" I asked, it was pretty uncommon for someone to actually reserve a table since most of the time we always have multiple available.

"Just the Pines family."

My eyes widened in shock. The Pines,.. family? As in more than two? Stan and Ford came over quite often, to have a cup of coffee, a quick breakfast, a nice lunch, or a warm dinner. But we never refer to them as the 'Pines Family' only when Mabel and.. Dipper follow along. Oh no. He can't see me like this, he can't see me at all!

"Okay." I gave Susan a quick nod and then went in the back, into the kitchen, to start preparing some of the normal lunch food we have available.

...

Soon after I could already hear the Pines family enter the restaurant. Susan sent me out to go serve the party of four, which, of course, included the two pairs of twins, and for a moment I felt like she did that on purpose. In the time that I had worked in the Diner, Susan has become a kind of mother figure to me, so of course I had told her about the whole.. Dipper situation. I let out a sigh before grabbing four menus and making my way to their booth.

Like the amazing waitress I was, I greeted them with a warm smile and a friendly; "Welcome to the Greasy's Diner! Here's your menus." I sat down the menus before each one of them. Maybe I should have introduced myself, after all Dipper seems to have already forgotten me.

Mabel certainly hadn't.

"Oh, my! Pacifica!"

She sounded surprised, and I couldn't blame her, I also never thought I would work a job like this.

"That's me. Long time no see, right?"

I didn't have any bad feelings towards Mabel, her and I have been keeping in contact for those five years, even if only short messages on each other's birthday. With Dipper on the other hand.. he had just now looked up from his notes and was only staring it me. I couldn't tell what he was thinking. I didn't like it.

"I'll be your waitress today, so just tell me if y'all need anything."

Keeping this fake smile on my face was hard, but not very different from the smiles I had to put on at my old beauty pageants. I had a pen and a little notepad in my hands, ready to take their orders as soon as they decided on what they wanted to have.

The elephant in the room had stopped looking at me.

"It's so good to see you again! I'll definitely have to come here more often just to see you!" Mabel said, I turned my smile into a genuine one.

A weak, "Good to see you." came from Dipper. And I could feel my heart sink a little. That's all he had to say after ghosting me for five fucking years?

I could feel anger rise in me. Now he couldn't even make eye contact while talking to me? Oh how I wished that I wasn't working right now, so that I could scream at him, slap him, anything but staying silent and smile like this. But I have to keep my cool, if not only for the sort-of-friendship with Mabel.

Stan and Mabel have already decided what they were gonna have and I was definitely not surprised with the order. Only Ford argued that lunch should be a healthy meal, so he ordered an egg salad.

When Stan began listing their order, I started writing down the words with my pink ink pen.

"Okay, so, three pancakes with butter and maple syrup. Four orange juices. And one salad with eggs. Is that correct?"
