Two brothers fight over whether to bring their father back from the dead.

INT. MOTEL SUITE-NIGHT

SAM is sitting at the breakfast table, researching on his laptop, deep in concentration as he reads about the crossroads. The website up on the screen shows a few facts about the crossroads, and he reads a few of them to himself aloud.

SAM

To sell your soul to the Devil, an offering at the center of the crossroads must be made to summon a dealer, who offers what you want to enjoy for ten years. The deal is sealed with a kiss. You're dragged to hell's gates by hellhounds after ten years are up. There is no known way to break the deal once it's made...

SAM looks up when he hears the turn of the latch of the front door, and quickly closes the internet browser window. The door abruptly swings open, DEAN appearing with a plastic grocery bag in his hand.

SAM

Pie? Again?

DEAN

What did you expect, that I turned into a health freak within the last twenty minutes?

SAM

Uh... no.

DEAN rolls his eyes and shuts the front door, minding to double lock it. He then saunters over to the kitchen counter, sets the bag on the counter top, pulls the large pie box out of its confines, lifts the lid and rummages through a drawer until he finds a fork. There's no shame to be found in a man who eats his pie whole. SAM pauses as he watches his brother.

SAM

... Dean?

DEAN ignores SAM. He stabs his fork into the pie, scoops out a bite and shovels it into his mouth without batting an eye.

SAM

Dean, you didn't cut the pie. That's unsettling.

Forkful of apple pie after the next, DEAN crams as much as he can into his mouth to avoid speaking with SAM.

SAM

Look, if you're still mad about earlier—

DEAN

Sam.

SAM

Yeah?

DEAN

Shut up. You're making me wanna go out for another pie.

SAM

That won't solve the issue.

DEAN

Yeah? Well, I know what will.

SAM is near to laughing as he speaks.

SAM

I already told you, you're not going to the crossroads!

DEAN doesn't reply, and instead eats more of the quickly disappearing dessert.

SAM

Dean!

DEAN

What?!

SAM

This is your problem! You're too focused on dad to be able to function.

DEAN

Sammy, it's not wrong to grieve.

SAM

You've been grieving for months. Dad's gone. Get over it.
