A Canvas of Love

The air in the school's administrative office was thick with tension as Freen's disciplinary hearing commenced. Becky sat nervously beside her, a bundle of emotions threatening to spill over as she waited with bated breath for the outcome that would determine the fate of their forbidden love.

Becky's heart raced as the board member's words sank in. She knew the risks they were facing, but she also knew that the connection she shared with Freen was worth fighting for. Summoning her courage, she spoke up, her voice trembling slightly.

"With all due respect, sir, our relationship may not fit the traditional mold, but it has brought me a sense of purpose and fulfillment that I've never experienced before. After what felt like an eternity, the chairperson cleared her throat and delivered the verdict. "Ms. Freen, we have no choice but to

terminate your employment with the school, effective immediately. As for Ms. Becky, she will be permitted to complete her studies under the supervision of another instructor."

Becky's heart shattered as the words registered, and she felt Freen's grip tighten around her hand. This was not the outcome they had hoped for, but they had prepared themselves for the worst.

As the board members filed out of the room, Freen turned to Becky, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Becky, I'm so sorry. I never wanted this to happen to you. You deserve so much more than-"

Becky cut her off, pressing a finger to Freen's lips. "Shhh. This isn't your fault. You've given me more than I could have ever imagined, and I'm not going to let them take that away from me."

Freen searched Becky's eyes, finding a fierce determination that both awed and terrified her. She knew what Becky was suggesting, and the consequences it could have.

"Becky, you're still so young. Your whole life is ahead of you. I can't ask you to sacrifice everything for me."

Becky shook her head, a small, resolute smile playing on her lips. "You're not asking, Freen. I'm choosing this. I choose you."
