Inside a facility, 9 soldiers wearing black and red clothing prepare themselves as their instructor stands before them.

???: The virtual bran-link cable will now be connected. This will hurt much more than it did in training- be strong.

Operator: System all green. Beginning SAS cable connection.

The soldiers standing before the instructors are called Psionics, people with acute extra-sensory abilities. The SAS or rather Struggle Arms System is an ability to borrow other psionic's power for a limited time.

These two combined are important tools to become a skilled fighter to defend humanity from deranged mutants known as the Others. But also to be a part of humanity's last line of defense in this world, the Other Suppression Force or OSF.

In this batch, two girls are taking the test to become members of OSF. All started out screaming meaning some people have failed to endure the pain.

Naomi: I-I'm okay. We can do this.

When it was the girl, Naomi's turn, she screamed in pain but she managed to endure the pain and then connect with the SAS. Then the other girl beside her Kasane, will now take the synchronization as she can see the connectors primed and ready as she steels herself. The SAS then connects to her immediately as she can feel the pain in her head like scraping on a chalkboard.

Kasane: 'So this is the pain of the SAS... This is fine. I can handle it!'

But then the sync was close to completion when she felt another pain in her head as marks on her face appeared and were revealed before it was over.

Then she looked to her left and saw a boy, Y/n Shiro, standing as she saw the SAS connectors ready. The connectors were then connected to him as he started to feel it.

Y/n: GAGH!!!

He can feel the pain as he feels his head being sent information from the connectors itself.

Y/n: 'So this is the power and pain of being connected to the system...' GAH!!!!!!!

Y/n's psionics power suddenly skyrocketed as it created a small shockwave making everyone who was still standing cover their faces as they saw the power flowing to him from red to purple.

But returned to red as soon as the smoke cleared up and saw the marks on his face. It was the Dangerous Zombie's broken visor shape with his left eye being the most covered while the other was not.

As his connection is complete and in place, the instructor returns to his stoic stature as he talks to three remaining soldiers who survived the SAS link.

Instructor: Good. Seems like you're okay. This aptitude test will determine your platoon assignment. Do your best.

Y/n & Kasane: Yes, sir!

Timeskip

It was the a year later after the aptitude test. Two boys were running on the platform as the boy who was firstly running bragged about his name and his stature to some people who might look at him in confusion.

Nagi: I am Nagi Karman who will join the Scarlet Guardians today! Nice to meet you!

Yuito: Stop fooling around!

The two civilians looked confused on those two as her friend asked her.

Civilian: What was that?

Civilian: *found something* Wait, was it this guy?
