"My love, my man, my darling- I missed you so much!"
Hitoshi can't help but let his eyes roll.
"Yeah yeah, I missed your ass too," He gives in, because lying just to look cool will only make Denki even more enthusiastic about earning reciprocation of his love- in even more embarrassing ways than declaring it out loud in the middle of a Starbucks. Hitoshi has learned that the hard way.
He accepts the hug, his eyes fluttering just the tiny bit shut at the familiar rush of sea breeze and sour patch- Denki's scent is gleeful and fresh, just like its owner- Hitoshi holds him a little tighter, damn, he can't get emotional now. "Although I could do without some things- what in the world kind of neon is that? You sure is not radioactive? My eyes are having an allergic reaction."
Denki pulls back with a feigned gasp, a dramatic hand over his heart, chest covered in the most obnoxious bright pink known to mankind.
"You gonna make me blush- Thank you!" The blond's fluttering lashes earn him another eye roll and a sigh that means 'I give up on you' but also 'I should have expected that' as Hitoshi settles in line with his unsufferable best friend.
Ten minutes later and they've got their drinks- Denki's 'I will have so many flavours together I'll have no idea what's in it but cream and lack of common sense' Frappuccino and Hitoshi's 'black coffee please'. Admittedly, he did ask for caramel in it, but that's his business and it was a completely sensible amount thank you.
They've barely sequestered themselves into a booth- 'not the window seats, have you seen how bright it is? What if it reflects over your shirt and the glare blinds passer-by's? You're supposed to avoid disasters not cause them'- and Denki is falling into his needy, dramatic self.
"You were gone forever man; I was so lonely!"
"You were fine."
"Bro, are you joking? It was a year! A whole year of gossip and drama and no one to rattle it to! All the scandals, and Ashido's messy breakups and Todoroki's latest conspiracy- Sero gets all the tea at the agency and boy, you can't believe the shit he knows."
"Seems you had plenty of available ears."
"Yeah, but no one is as out of the loop as you are, everyone else gets fed up when I go in circles."
"I zone out half the time."
"I like to think you're zoned in- and I like to hog your attention." He chuckles with a poorly executed, theatrical wink.
This adorable loose brained goofball.
"Well, I'm here." Hitoshi announces, palm open and ready to power up on caffeine and old news. No better way to get a recap of the missing year than hearing it from the one who will remember the actual entertaining parts of it. "Lay it on me."
"-so I said, 'bitch, where?' and now Momo is throwing Kyouka this sick birthday party on the second- you absolutely have to come."
Denki nibbles on another shortbread, crumbles sticking on his face and littering the table. They've been here for about four hours already, but for a twelve-month due catch up with Denki, four hours is a bargain.
Hitoshi did miss him, a lot.
That's why he sounds honestly disheartened when he has to deny the blond a chance to mingle later on.
"Can't." Denki's pout is as childish as his frowning face but before he can start his begging rant, Hitoshi elaborates.
"I'm not ditching, I would come but I can't. I'll be busy."
