"Areum, could you hand me that brush?" Harin asked, making sure every item was in its rightful place.

"Mhm." Areum hummed as she passed the makeup brush to Harin, her coworker and best friend. She watched her work for a moment, then plopped down onto one of the plush chairs nearby.
With a deep sigh, Areum glanced at the clock, noting the time. "Just one more hour and we're free," she said with a faint smile, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle into her bones.

Harin chuckled softly, a small smile tugging at her lips as she placed the last of the brushes in order. "What are you doing this weekend? Any plans?"

Areum shook her head, letting out a light laugh. "Nope, just me, myself, and my bed. I'll be hibernating all weekend, so please don't call and disturb me. I'm turning off the world for two days."

Harin grinned, a playful glint in her eyes. "I'll make sure to spam your phone all day."

"Do that and I'll block you," Areum shot back with a laugh.

The soft hum of chatter from the salon filled the air as Areum stretched her arms, smiling as she rose from her chair. "I've got one more client. I'll help you clean up here when I'm done," she said, her tone light and relaxed.

"Sure thing," Harin replied, still busy organizing the other vanities, "I could use some help."

Just as Areum turned to leave, a soft chime sounded from her phone, which was lying on one of the vanities. Harin glanced down and saw the lock screen light up, revealing a familiar face.
She couldn't help but laugh, picking up the phone with an amused grin. "He's still your wallpaper?" she teased, holding the phone up for Areum to see.

Areum's face immediately flushed, a deep blush spreading across her cheeks as she quickly ran over and snatched the phone from Harin's hand. "Shut up," she muttered, her embarrassment evident.

Harin just shook her head, laughing softly. "When are you going to change it? He's been your lock screen for at least a year now."

"Never," Areum declared with a grin, clutching her phone to her chest. "He's staying on here. Do you know how many times he's saved me from weird guys?"

Harin raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "He saves you?"

"Yeah," Areum explained, her grin widening. "Whenever someone asks for my number, I just show them my phone and say I have a boyfriend."

Harin burst out laughing, nodding in approval. "At least change it to a different picture. That's been there forever."

Areum looked down at her screen, her expression thoughtful. "Should I? But I really like this picture. He looks really good here."

Harin rolled her eyes with a playful grin. "Girly, he's Lee Jeno. I promise you that man has zero bad photos. He's hot, pretty, and ethereal at the same time. Find a different picture."

"I guess you're right," Areum admitted with a sigh, already opening Pinterest on her phone. "Pinterest, here I come." She said, completely forgetting her about her client.

As Areum scrolled through endless images of Jeno, Harin continued tidying up, organizing the makeup on each table nicely.
However, the peaceful moment was interrupted when Ms. Kim, their boss, walked into the room.

"Oh, there you two are. I've been looking for you girls everywhere." Ms. Kim announced, her voice carrying a mix of authority and warmth.

In an instant, both girls straightened up, abandoning what they were doing as they quickly bowed in respect. "Ms. Kim," they said politely.

Ms. Kim returned their gesture with a smile. "I have a task for you two."

Areum and Harin exchanged a quick glance at each other, already sensing what this could mean. Tasks from Ms. Kim often translated to more work hours, most times even spilling over into their precious weekends.
The thought made Areum's grip tighten on her phone as she wanted nothing more to just lay in bed all weekend.

Ms. Kim cleared her throat and continued, "I need you both to head to a studio a few miles from here tomorrow. There's an idol group that needs makeup done for a photoshoot. It's on short notice, but they've specifically requested our team."

Areum and Harin exchanged wary glances, neither of them eager to give up their weekend plans. The thought of sacrificing their precious days off hung heavily between them.

Ms. Kim scanned their faces, noticing their hesitance. With a sigh, she added, "Look, you girls don't have to do it if you don't want to, but they're short on staff. I was going to send you two because I want you to gain more field experience, not just working here in the salon."

Harin hesitated, then slowly spoke up, "You said it's optional?"

Ms. Kim nodded, her expression softening. "Yes, it's optional. But I would really like you both to take on this task. They specifically asked for our staff, and I don't have anyone else available."

Harin looked over at Areum, who was staring at the ground, clearly dreading the idea of giving up her weekend of hibernation.

Ms. Kim quickly added, "It's a boy group." Her tone became more urgent as she continued, "I know you two have only worked with girl groups before, but this could be your chance to get experience with male idols. It would be great exposure and it's a valuable skill to add to your portfolio."

Despite the pitch, the girls still seemed hesitant. The weekend off was too tempting to pass up.

Ms. Kim let out a sigh, her voice taking on a pleading tone. "I'll pay you both double for this."

Areum's head snapped up, eyes wide with surprise. The two of them were already well compensated at the salon, and bonuses were a rare treat. The promise of double pay made this opportunity even more tempting.

Sensing Areum's interest, Ms. Kim leaned in, her tone earnest. "Please, help me out with this."

Areum and Harin exchanged a long look, the weight of the decision heavy in the air between them. The weekend they had planned seemed to slip further away with each passing second.

"I'll do it if you do it," Areum muttered, glancing at the older girl, her tone wavering slightly.

Harin chuckled, feeling a mix of dread and amusement. She looked at Areum, then at Ms. Kim, and finally made up her mind. "We'll do it," she said, her voice steady.

Who doesn't love more money?

Ms. Kim's face lit up with relief and gratitude. "Thank you. I promise you won't regret this."

The two girls bowed in unison, their voices filled with sincerity as they replied, "Thank you, Ms. Kim."

Just as they straightened up, Ms. Kim added with a gentle smile, "Oh, and Areum, your client is waiting for you."

Areum's eyes widened in realization. "Oh, I completely forgot!" she gasped, quickly gathering her things.

Harin chuckled at her friend's flustered reaction. "Don't rush, you'll slip like last time. " she reminded her, waving Areum off.

"Bye rin, bye Ms.Kim!" Areum bid over her shoulder as she hurried out of the room, ready to focus on her final task of the day.

I guess no hibernating for me.
