As Ava walked through the palace door which led to the ball feeling reassured by the presence of her lover by her side comforting her she felt it wasn't much anyways,
that was untill she found out all the beautiful maidens in the kingdom were present at the ball and they all have royal background, they were finding the prince a WIFE?
I mean why when he was only 27 years old, she should at least be allowed to flex his 20's other than thinking of marriage, but then again"royal affairs" she mentally rolled her eyes(Ava mind*"pheww thank goodness I changed tho"*)Ava was not ready for this, she was just 20,she never felt age as a barrier to love but this wasn't the case, she wanted to enjoy her twenties not get married immediately after entering it,although she loved jake this was a little too much on her, the jealously that followed her relationship with the hot shot prince was top-notch as she could literally feel all the eyes of the female elites staring holes into her,but she had to stay focus as they were other pressing matters as Jake's mother requested a little chat with her, Ava made her way to the Queen's chamber with the help of Jake's trusted friend Thomas,
as she walks into the room, the was not disgusting by the fact that her son had chosen a rotten commoner over someone of great standard or that she was the reason her son hadn't been paying adequate attentions to royal affairs, she was rather delighted by Ava's groomed manners and breathing beautiful features (BTW I won't describe any specific or special features cuz you are beautiful, yes YOU so imagine yourself),
as Ava bowed showing her respect to the presence of the Queen, the quuen then asked her to sit, Ava did just that "you look outstanding beautiful my dear"said the Queen, flushed Ava replied a simple thank but Elegance seemed to be her charm so her simple thank you wasn't so simple!
Jake's mother, the queen then takes Ava aside, her expression a mix of kindness and calculation. "Dear Ava, I see you've captured my son's heart. But tell me, are you prepared to be a royal wife? To bear the weight of our kingdom's traditions and expectations?"
Ava, taken aback, tries to compose herself. "Your Majesty, I...I care deeply for Jake, but I never thought about being a royal wife. I'm just a simple bookstore clerk."
The queen's gaze pierces through Ava's words. "Simple? Ah, no. You're far from simple, Ava. You have a certain...je ne sais quoi. But can you adapt to our world? Can you be the princess our kingdom needs?"
Ava feels like she's being pulled into a whirlpool, unsure if she's ready to dive in. "I...I don't know, Your Majesty. I need time to think."
The queen's expression turns stern. "Time is a luxury we don't have, Ava. The kingdom needs an heir, and Jake's heart belongs to you. But can you accept the responsibilities that come with being a royal?"
Ava's mind races as she looks around the ballroom, seeing the expectant faces of the royal maidens, the weight of the kingdom's expectations, and Jake's loving gaze. What will she decide? Will she accept the royal life, or forge her own path?
She feels overwhelmed and takes a look at her lover once more before running away, this again? What she had not wanted caught her up again "why me, why?"
She's in a very vulnerable state now, The emotion turmoil began.Ava rushes out of the palace, tears streaming down her face, feeling like she's trapped in a nightmare. She can't believe she's been pulled into this royal whirlwind again, after everything she's been through.
As she runs through the palace gardens, the sound of her heels echoing off the stone paths, she feels Jake's arms wrap around her, holding her close.
"Ava, don't go! Please, don't leave me again!" Jake's voice is laced with desperation, his heart aching to see her so distraught.
Ava turns to face him, her eyes red-rimmed, her voice shaking. "Why me, Jake? Why did this have to happen to me again? I thought I'd left all this behind!"
Jake's expression is filled with empathy, his voice gentle. "I know, my love. I know. But I couldn't help falling for you. And I won't let you go, no matter what."
Ava's tears fall harder, her body trembling. She feels like she's losing control, like her past is catching up with her.
Suddenly, a figure emerges from the shadows. "Ava, dear, I've been looking for you." It's Mrs. Jenkins, Ava's old friend and confidante from the bookstore.
Mrs. Jenkins' warm smile and comforting presence envelop Ava, offering a sense of safety and familiarity. "Come, child, let's get you out of here. You don't need this royal drama."
Ava hesitates, torn between Jake's love and the comfort of her old life. What will she choose? Will she follow her heart or flee from the palace once more?
