Im Sol, a talented but struggling writer, pens a debut novel based on her tumultuous relationship with Ryu Sun Jae, changing the ending to give them the happy conclusion they never had in real life. When the book unexpectedly becomes a bestseller, Sun Jae, now a successful businessman, reappears in her life, forcing them to confront their past and the fiction Sol has created.

The bookstore's bright lights felt like an interrogation lamp to Im Sol as she gripped her pen tighter, forcing a smile for the next fan in line. Her debut novel, "Rewritten Stars," sat accusingly on the table before her, its cover a stylized image of two silhouettes reaching for each other across a starry divide.
The scent of new books and coffee mingled in the air, a familiar comfort that usually calmed her nerves. But today, it only heightened her anxiety, reminding her of late-night writing sessions in college, with him by her side.
"Who should I make it out to?" Sol asked, her rehearsed cheerfulness barely masking the tremor in her voice.
"Jae Sun," the man replied, sliding the book towards her.
Sol's hand froze mid-air, her heart lurching painfully in her chest. Slowly, she raised her eyes, praying she had misheard. But there he stood – Ryu Sun Jae, the man she had spent months fictionalizing, reimagining, and ultimately, immortalizing in 300 pages of what the world believed to be fiction.
He looked different now. The hair she once loved running her fingers through was neatly styled, and his former band t-shirts had been replaced by a crisp suit that screamed corporate success. Gone was the struggling musician, replaced by a polished businessman. But his eyes – those deep, dark eyes that had once looked at her with such warmth – now regarded her with an unsettling mixture of curiosity and something else she couldn't quite place.
Betrayal, perhaps? Or was it longing?
"It's been a while, Sol," Sun Jae said softly, his voice carrying the weight of their shared history. "Interesting story you've written here. Felt a bit... familiar."
Sol's mouth went dry. The bustling bookstore seemed to fade away, leaving only her, Sun Jae, and the damning novel between them. She had always known this day might come, had rehearsed a dozen explanations in her head. But now, faced with the reality of him, words failed her.
"Sun Jae, I—" she began, but he cut her off with a slight shake of his head.
"Save it for later. We have a lot to discuss, don't we?" He tapped the cover of the book. "After all, I'm dying to know how our story really ends."
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Sol staring after him, her carefully constructed world of fiction and reality collapsing around her. The next fan stepped up, oblivious to the seismic shift that had just occurred.
"I loved the book," the young woman gushed. "It felt so real. How did you come up with such an emotional story?"
Sol swallowed hard, her eyes still fixed on Sun Jae's retreating back. "Sometimes," she murmured, "the most painful stories are the ones we live ourselves."
As she signed the book, a line from her novel flashed through her mind: "In the space between what was and what could have been, we wrote our own constellations." The irony wasn't lost on her – she had penned those words thinking of Sun Jae, never imagining he would read them.
The book signing dragged on for what felt like eternity to Sol. Each smile felt more forced, each signature more mechanical as her mind raced, replaying Sun Jae's words over and over. When the last fan finally left, Sol slumped in her chair, exhaustion and anxiety coursing through her veins.
