Chapter one

I woke up with the most iritating song in earth. Only then did I remember I'm at a week long camp. I went to this camp last year but as a junior. This year I'm a senior at the camp and it's awesome so far. " Wake up Ashley!" I heard someone saying next to me. " Another day to enjoy!" I moan and wiggle out of my sleeping bag while listening to the speakers outside blare some other random song that irritates everyone. While busy contemplating my surroundings a pillow flew into me and I suddenly sit up straight ready for the next assult I knew was coming. " I'm up, I'm up!" I say to my attacker who was none other than Jean - Marie. She had dark brown eyes and long brown hair. She was already almost fully dressed. I notice the smirk on her face as I stick my tongue out at her. " You are a very abusive girl I mumble as I try to locate missing gumboots. The whole tent is quiet for a second when we hear the next song come on. "Oh no.... " I started. They're playing the monkey. I got up like every other member in my tent and started to dance. The dance was so stupid but Jean - Marie insists. She says were practising for later. What ever the he'll that means. I almost triped over a cushion while I was dancing and I was thank full when the song stopped."Now I'm awake."I said as I was busy folding my sleeping bag. " Ashley where's my phone?" Karin asked me, obviously still trying to wake up after a cold nights sleep. yea. Really cold night. Our tents were by the sea. Yay in the daytime and nay in the nightime. Everybody is up now and getting dressed in time for inspection. We pack our stuff in the middle and put a ground sail on top of it, because, well, the captain prevers it that way. First day at camp. It's gonna be legendary. " Everybody ready? He's going to be here soon. Remember to make sure that there is no papers or bottles lying around." Nimi said as she opened the tent side to get the light in. "Uggh! SUN!!! Protect yourselfs!" Elizma shouted while crumbling down on the floor. Puling me down with her. "Elizma!?What the hell? I spent forever untangling my hair! Are you a vampire or something? oh and Karin! I found your phone!" I heard someone scream "Ashley I love you"
and suddenly Karin appeard holding her hand out. "Phone please your awesomeness." I held it in front of her and with a smirk on my face said five rand please." She looked at me with pleading eyes and gave me the puppy face. "Come stand in the line" Simone called from outside. " The captains coming." She had auburn brown hair and brown eyes. A lot of freckles that reminded me of a girl I knew in primary school. I gave Karin her phone and we went to stand outside. Almost all the kids are outside already. "Morning Ashley." I heard Danica say. " Morning. Shouldn't you get dressed?" I asked her. Seeing that she was still in her onesey. " I will get dressed later." She told me, and walked of. The captain came and we all stoped talking. " Nice work ladies. Cute mascot. Who's is it?"
" Its Karin's" we told him. He nodded and walked of.
" Breakfast at eight! dont be late." I put my arm through Karin's and we walked towards the group of kids. "Hey Ash!" Arno came and gave me a hug.
"Help me out here Ash. " James told Megan that she had big hips. and she's now pissed at him, so he asked me to help him right he's wrong. What do you think?" I looked at him with a disbelieving look on my face and shook my head. " You told her she's fat you idiot! " Karin sensing I was going to kick he's ass, squeezed my arm to try and calm me. "I didn't mean to!" He told me. "You woman are all the same. Probably her time of the month."He said while letting out a chuckle.
OH HE DID NOT JUST SAY THAT! I looked at Karin who was busy giving him a death stare. She let me go and, sensing this he stopped laughing. "What?" He asked. Looking over at us. "You're saying that our periods have something to with our acting normally!? That its our fault?!" He was starting to back away slowly like he knew what was coming. " Yea?" He answers, unsure of what else to say.
"Oh that's it!" I shouted and lunged myself at him. He screamed a really girly laugh as I chased after him. "I will kill you!" I shouted at him. I was chasing him through the tents and the kids made way as we rushed past. I saw Floris and he sent me look asking what I'm doing. I pointed at James and he nodded. He rushed past the group and as James passed his tent where he was standing Floris tackled him to the ground."What the hell man? Bro's before hoes." Floris just laughed and continued to pin him down. I made my way to them stood before them. "Got you, you ass." I said smirking down at him. I knelt down next to him and gave him my I GOT YOU SUCKER! face. He looked scared for an instant but then he started smirking.
"What are you gonna do Ash? Butterfly punch me?" Floris started laughing again. "I wouldn't do that if I was you. She could be vicious you know. I still have a mark on my shoulder where she punched me." He told James. While rubbing he's arm. "You totally deserved it." I said smirking at him.
" What did he deserve?" James asked him smiling." I took her jellybeans. She kinda has a thing for those sweets. I took the packet and teased her with it. She was not very pleased with me." I nodded and shoved floris to the side. I'm now straddling James holding he's arms at over he's head. " Wow. Didn't even buy me dinner. How rude." He did that smirk again and I feel my face starting to redden. "Your not supposed to like it." I told him Smirking. I now know what I'm gonna do.Floris, go get Megan. she's gonna help me." I was holding back laughter from the look in his James's eyes." You wouldn't do that to me."
"I would. And I just did."
"Good luck bro." Floris said as he walked away looking for Megan."Why are you blushing? are you shy?" James asked me. I looked at him and said "No"

"I don't believe you."

"That's your problem. Believe what you want."

And that's when it happened.
