Chapter 1: First Impression

Jisung clutched his schedule tightly, his eyes darting around the crowded campus. It was his first day, and he was already late. He picked up the pace, trying to weave through the mass of students, his heart racing.

Just as he turned a corner, he collided with someone hard. His papers flew everywhere, and he stumbled back, barely catching himself before he hit the ground.

"I'm so sorry!" Jisung blurted out, quickly bending down to gather his scattered things. When he looked up, he was met with a cold, piercing gaze.

Minho, the person he had bumped into, didn't look pleased. "Watch where you're going," he snapped, his voice laced with irritation.

Jisung's heart sank. "I didn't mean to—"

"Of course you didn't," Minho interrupted, his tone harsh. "But maybe next time, try not to be so careless."

Jisung flinched at the words, feeling a wave of embarrassment and hurt wash over him. He opened his mouth to apologize again, but Minho had already turned and walked away, leaving Jisung standing there, feeling small and stupid.

Jisung stood there for a moment, feeling the sting of Minho's words linger in the air. He sighed, gathering the last of his papers and shoving them into his bag. He couldn't afford to dwell on this, not on his first day. But as he walked away, he couldn't help but replay the encounter in his mind, Minho's cold eyes etched into his thoughts.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of lectures, introductions, and trying to find his way around the massive campus. But no matter what he did, Jisung couldn't shake the feeling of inadequacy that Minho's words had left him with.

Later that evening, back in his dorm room, Jisung tossed his bag onto his bed and collapsed beside it, letting out a long breath. His roommate, Felix, looked up from his desk.

"Rough first day?" Felix asked, a sympathetic smile on his face.

"You have no idea," Jisung mumbled, covering his face with his hands. "I already made an enemy."

Felix chuckled. "An enemy? That's impressive for a first day."

Jisung peeked through his fingers. "It's not funny! I ran into this guy and... he was really mean. I didn't even do anything that bad."

Felix frowned. "Who was it?"

"I didn't get his name, but he looked like he wanted to murder me just for existing."

Felix thought for a moment. "Cold, angry? Black hair, sharp jawline?"

Jisung nodded, a little surprised. "Yeah, that's him."

"Sounds like you met Minho."

Jisung sat up. "You know him?"

"Yeah, we share the same friend group. He can be rough and cold at first but he's not all bad"

Jisung groaned. "Great. Just my luck."

"Hey, don't worry about it. He'll probably forget the encounter even happened."

Jisung nodded in understanding, but something told him his first year wasn't going to be that easy.

Felix's face brightened up. "Actually, I was planning to introduce you to our group. You know, help you get to know some people. Everyone's really nice... well, except Minho maybe. But you'll get used to him."

Jisung hesitated. The idea of facing Minho again wasn't appealing, but he didn't want to start his college life by avoiding people. "Yeah, okay. That sounds good."

"Great! We're meeting up tomorrow evening. I'll make sure everyone's there. You'll fit right in."

Jisung forced a smile. "Thanks, Lixie."

As he lay in bed that night, Jisung couldn't help but feel a mix of fear and curiosity. Meeting Felix's friends might be the fresh start he needed or it could be another disaster waiting to happen.
