New orleans, the town never slept — witches roaming the days and vampires running the nights, Aurora roberts and her daughter- cleo roberts arrived at the never good town.
cleo sat on aurora' hip, aurora had a cab stop outside a apartment, it was quiet and not so done up — just a average apartment. cleo had a big back pack on her back and aurora had a suitcase in her other hand.
" momma, did we have to leave. " cleo asked, cleo never understood her mother.
" it'll be better here, we will have true life. " aurora replied to the young girl, aurora escaped mystic falls with cleo after the spell boundary — she knew even with the spell as soon as they exited the boundary they'd be conflict against vampires and the witches.
" i know but we had a life at mystic falls too! " cleo was argumentative she was her mother' twin, cleo hadn't had a upbringing of her dad.. infact, for the last 7 years she had never even heard his name.
" you'll have a life here, a fresh start. " aurora dropped the girl down, the girl stomped her feet as aurora dragged along the suitcase up the stairs as cleo followed behind.
" momma, i'm going to be lonely. " cleo wasn't use to lonely, i mean — she use to spend time with everyone but her mother and for that cleo never understood what it meant to truly feel a parent love.
" you'll never be lonely no more, i'm here for you baby. " the two stopped at the second floor apartment, she pulled out the keys and fitted them into the door and turned the handle.
the door swung open, the apartment wasn't as nice as expected, well — a okay sized kitchen with a basic stove a sitting area with a table two chairs and a tv with two bedrooms one was average one was smaller.
of course a bathroom, the bathroom was probably the cleanest.
" can i stay with you tonight. " cleo dropped her bag when aurora laid the suitcase against the wall.
" perhaps i could arrange something " the two exchanged a smile, aurora picked up cleo and twirled around.
the two giggled, aurora placed the little girl back down and kneeled to just roughly over her height.
" i missed my little girl. " aurora brushed the hair behind cleo' ear, cleo didn't look so happy no more.
" mom, they said it's only the beginning. " cleo whispered, aurora' smile faded within a second.
" what is my sweet girl? " aurora cupped cleo' face making cleo look her in the eyes.
" they don't want us here. " cleo replied, aurora gulped — aurora didn't understand but didn't wanna ask more.
" i'm sure they do! " aurora forced a smile through, " go unpack in the room, i'll be there soon. " she placed a kiss on cleo' head.
" okay momma! " cleo picked back up her bag and trotted to the room, aurora watched as she walked there.
aurora was quick to her feet, slapping down the suitcase and picking out her phone.
she dialled a number, it rang for a few seconds which felt like hours
" hello? " the phone spoke, " davina claire, i'm in need of company for this. " aurora walked to the kitchen, closing the door behind her as she sat on the counter.
" aurora, long time no see. "
" the ancestors spoke to her. "
