He's at peace now I held him while he went he had a big juicy stake and my ma got him a chocolate ice cream since he was going to get put down anyway and he inhaled it we went to see my nana grandad uncle and other nana one more time and he got pets then he sat on my lap to look out the window since he couldn't stand he was such a good dog we went too the vets at 3 and we went in the room at 4 the lady tried to give him a treat but he is a fussy eater then we sat on the floor his head on my lap as I held him so he wouldn't move as the lady injected him I watched the life drain from his eyes then I closed them, my ma father and sister wanted to pet him so I moved out the way but I broke down for the first time in a while and the vet even hugged me she gave us stamps of his paw print and we left with his collar the car ride was quiet were getting him cremated and were sprinkling him at his favourite lake where he can chase the ducks and swim he never hurt anyone he was such a good dog and he had his last holiday with us last week at shell island where we take him every year.
Rio was a rescue dog my ma's old high school friend bought him but didn't want him and my ma said to my father "oh look my old friend is getting rid of a dog" and father told ma "well lets go get him then" which shocked ma and now 15 years later were all in the living room crying even my father which is the first time I have ever seen him cry because damn did he love that dog.
Im going to miss you so much Rio I don't think you understand I literally grew up with you we are both 15 I have known nothing but coming home to you as you try to chew through the kitchen door to me go over that rainbow bridge and chase all the rats and ducks you can find grandad will look after you he always loved you and he will feed you lots of carrots and cucumber I'm just glad your not in pain anymore my beautiful little handsome baby boy I love you so much ree-roo <333
