Chapter 50 Picking up leaks
Li Zhenzhen and the other two walked slowly along the sloping stone steps onto Hollywood Road.
There were not many pedestrians on the street, most of them were foreigners, and there were also a small number of middle-aged and elderly Chinese wearing Tang suits and elegant temperaments.
There were very few young people like Li Zhenzhen and the other three students here.
Lu Pingting looked around curiously, and suddenly pointed to a store in front and said, "Zhenzhen, look, there is a bookstore over there, let's go in and take a look."
Li Zhenzhen looked in the direction she pointed and found that it was a bookstore specializing in rare ancient books, so she followed Lu Pingting in, and Zhou Ran followed them.
Although this bookstore deals in ancient rare books, they are obviously not precious, so the owner did not put them on the shelf, but put most of them on the bookshelf outside for people to choose.
Lu Pingting likes the literary and petty bourgeoisie atmosphere the most. After entering, she took Li Zhenzhen and strolled between the bookshelves with great interest.
The owner of the bookstore is a middle-aged Chinese. When he saw three students coming in, he did not stand up to greet them. He sat behind the counter and waved his hand casually, letting the three of them do as they please.
Soon, Lu Pingting found that this was not the literary bookstore she had imagined, and said with disappointment: "Alas, this store is not fun, Zhenzhen, let's go out."
After Lu Pingting finished speaking, she wanted to pull Li Zhenzhen away from here.
But Li Zhenzhen did not move at all. She was attracted by the books behind Lu Pingting.
These books were all 32-page thin paper books, a total of 5 books, and the covers were all bright red.
Li Zhenzhen took them down from the bookshelf and found that the books were slightly damaged. She turned to the cover and saw six big characters written on it:
"Qin Ding Si Ku Quan Shu"!
This is actually Si Ku Quan Shu!
The Siku Quanshu was compiled by the Grand Scholar Ji Xiaolan and more than 300 scholars under the auspices of Emperor Qianlong. It took 13 years to compile and is divided into four parts: classics, history, philosophy, and collections, hence the name Siku.
The compiled Siku Quanshu was copied by more than 3,000 people. There are more than 3,500 volumes with a total of 800 million words!
It is the most extensive and most wordy masterpiece in ancient and modern times, both in China and abroad!
After the compilation of the Siku Quanshu, it was collected in the inner courts of the imperial palaces such as the Forbidden City, the Old Summer Palace, and the Mountain Resort.
Later, during the war, a large part of these books were looted by the Eight-Power Allied Forces. Some of the remaining Sikuquanshu were destroyed in the war, and some were lost to the public. The number of copies that have been handed down is very small.
I didn't expect that I could actually see the Sikuquanshu here today!
Li Zhenzhen was so excited that she quickly opened the title page of the book. As expected, she saw a huge red square seal in the middle - "Wenyuange Bao"!
Li Zhenzhen carefully flipped through these books from beginning to end and found that they were all handwritten, and the handwriting was from the same person. At the end of each book, you can also find Dai Zhen's personal seal.
