"Ah," My brother breathed, "Chandler, my dearest sister. Come here." He reached out his pale, veiny hand.
I had no choice but to take it, I knew the power that my brother possessed. It didn't matter that we were related, if I were to question him, he would kill me. I admired Tom for that, not being afraid to get rid of what's in his way, becoming such a force of nature that even muggles were beginning to acknowledge his existence. I would do anything to be like him, to be fear itself, to use my own wit and ambition to build myself.
"This is my younger sister Chandler, everyone." Tom spoke out to a long table of faithful death eaters, smiling, "She will go to Hogwarts next month as our youngest death eater." A man with long platinum blond hair coughed. Tom's gaze shot to the man, "Is something the matter, Lucius?"
"Well, m-my lord," Lucius stuttered, "I had assumed that, um, D-Draco would be our youngest death eater." This made me angry. What type of entitled rich kid whose status was fully reliant on Daddy's money thinks that he deserves the honor of being the youngest death eater over me, a close relative of Lord Voldemort. I sauntered over to the space in between Lucius and another man that I couldn't care to know the name of. Dragging my finger across the back of his chair, making a perch for my hand on his shoulder
"Why," I spoke lowly, "Exactly do you think that a greasy blond-haired ferret boy like your son would deserve an honor such as serving the Dark Lord as one of his most esteemed members." I let my eyes fall from his eyes to his throat, watching Lucius' Adam's Apple bob up and down with each deep swallow. If there was one thing that I knew how to do, it was intimidate people. Especially men, it was easy to make them squirm. "It's quite," I continued, "Ridiculous, if you ask me. Your son has been nothing but a pathetic excuse for a Hogwarts student for the last five years, while I have been here. Learning and obeying the Dark Lord, my brother." I made my voice louder, making sure that everyone at the table, especially Tom, could hear me. "Terrorizing his peers and making petty fights with children. Using bullying as his way to impress you Lucius, knowing that you are as much as a child as he is. You shouldn't be here right now, you aren't death eater material, I can only imagine how disappointing your dearest little Draco would be. Consider yourself lucky that he's not here right now. I would like to see him squirm under the weight of my wand." I smirked, clearly having disturbed Lucius with my over-the-top monologue. It was fun to make the death eaters nervous, almost as much as it was easy.
Bellatrix Cackled, and I smiled at her. That little speech was something straight out of her book. I went back to my spot text to Tom, and he looked at me proudly.
"Thank you, Chandler," Tom grabbed my forearm, "It's inspiring to see my kin care so dearly about serving me, and taking her place among my army." I smiled, knowing that I would surely now get the dark mark before Draco. I had met him once before- we held meetings at Malfoy Manor, so I was bound to run into him sometime. It was in his third year of Hogwarts, and he stumbled in on our meeting. Tom introduced us and I was fully unimpressed by him. Draco was the spitting image of his father, it was disgusting. He had a toothy grin on his face the entire time we spoke, and I didn't like that. I don't like it when people are kind to me, I never know what to do. Tom was never kind to me, but I never expected him to be.
"Thank you my lord," I stared at my forearm, longing for the deep burn that would soon plague it, leaving a mark of power in its place.
"We shall turn you once this meeting is finished," Tom flashed his rotten smile at me, "It will be a blessing to have such an eager young woman such as Chandler join our army. Won't it?" Everyone around the table murmured in agreement. I locked eyes with Lucius, making sure that he knew I won, and I would always win against him and his pitiful son.
