AUTHOR'S POV

Her life sucks really. She was just going for a shower but a knock on the door startled her. She hesitantly went to open the door omy to be greeted by Lucia. She didn't even ask for her permission and entered the room and plopped on her bed with a heavy sigh, staring at the walls with awe.

"You have got a nice room here..." Lucia said and Mishti nodded saying a small 'thank you' not knowing what else to say.

"Tell me something about you Mishti." Lucia said especially giving more pressure on her name.

Mishti was confused as though why Lucia behaves like this with her. It's not like she has done something wrong to her. The way Lucia stare at her makes her uncomfortable. It seems like she is disgusted by the presence of Mishti in this mansion but isn't saying anything just because Ritwik was the one who took her here.

"I'm a college drop out, new in the city, have no family and that's it." Mishti wanted to say that she has her Dadi but she knows she shouldn't go on those details with this girl.

Some how she feels like Lucia is a bad news. Lucia stare at her in amusement and then look up and down as if Judging her attire.

"Don't know what Ritwik saw in you..." She shrugged and get up from the bed.

"You know how to use a gun? Knife? Or any other weapon?" Lucia asked and Mishti simply shook her head which made her chuckle loudly.

"It's so easy to make you disappear." Lucia's words were scaring her now. Why is she talking like this?

"You are living with those monsters Mishti who don't even need some weapon to choke you to death. What did Ritwik thought bring a useless piece like you here?" Lucia's statement reflected her hate towards Mishti. And she was trying to make Mishti cower but Mishti is not that extroverted. She might be frightened of her but she isn't going to show thất.

"What's your problem with me?" Mishti narrowed her eyes questioning the best assassin (a person who kills another person) who can kill her with her bare hands. But Lucia just shake her head.

"You will find soon enough. You are a rose who can't handle even a single storm. You haven't seen the true colors of this world yet. Once you are in for good, you won't be having sleep without nightmares." And then Lucia exit her room.

Mishti gulped understanding the meaning of her words. She is already having a hard time living here and people like Lucia are making it more difficult.

Right then Mishti heard a loud sound of breaking of a table from outside. Then the curses of two men roaring on each other made her curious to know what's happening. It was sure it is a fight.

Mishti quickly left the room and ran towards living room. There were two of four men who were on each other's throats. Others stood there still watching them beating each other to pulp. Why aren't they stopping them? And even Lucia was watching with a smirk on her face. They were tarnishing the furniture while cursing and saying foul words meant for each other. Mishti wanted to stop them but she feared going near these men.

"Lucia why aren't you stopping them?!" She shrieked at Lucia and she plus other two men now stare at Mishti.

"Any one of them will either surrender or die here today. That's it. There's no way they are going to stop now." Lucia replied. This was insane.

They all were laughing and enjoying each other's company a few minutes ago but what happened after that? And why shouldn't someone stop them? Is 'life' that common for them? That they would kill one another just like that? Surely Mishti has seen these type of men before back in her town but never saw a fight. And the fight where they have no mercy for each other. This is not a time for God's sake, someone should stop them but neither of any made any moment.

One man from the two had control now who was throwing punches regularly on other's face on the floor. Mishti's heart was pounding in her chest while her eyes were glassy. And right then the other man apologised.

"S...sorry...sorry man...I-I shouldn't have said that....sorry..." He was muttering under his breath blood seeping from his mouth and nose. But the other man showed no mercy and punched him again and again. At least he decided to leave the poor bleeding person on the floor when he knocked him out unconscious on the floor.

"Motherfucker!!" He roared in loud voice and Mishti flinched hearing that. He didn't wait there and exit from the front door.

"John and Cole, pick him up and take him to his apartment." Lucia gave orders to the other men as they followed her lead. She then stare at the broken furniture with a frown.

"Mishti, you do the cooking right? Tell the servants tomorrow when they come to set this place." Mishti was unable to speak anything the seen still lingering in front of her eyes but managed to nod. Thankfully the same time Shivam entered in full rage.

"What the hell Lucia! What is happening here!" He roared like a mad man but Lucia didn't even showed any emotion of fear on her face instead smirked.

"I thought why not take the guys for a party tonight? I owed them for this one." She causally told him but he just stare at her in anger.

"This was before Mishti's arrival." He snapped but she just chuckled.

"What are you saying? That we would change our way of living for her? You know too that isn't going to happen. So let it be. She have to get used to it if she wanna survive." She said staring at Mishti and then left as well. After that Shivam turn towards her.

"I'm sorry you had to see that" At this Mishti smiled.

"No need for apologizing. Lucia is right after all, I have to get used to it." Mishti said with a heavy heart and Shivam stare at her with pity.

It was the look that Mishti never liked. It made her feel like something's wrong with her and that's what she don't wanna feel.

"We are all like a family so the gatherings are usual even at Ritwik's home. He don't care for his own men entering or exiting his place because he treats everyone as a family until they do something wrong Ofcourse." Shivam explained.

"Why both the men fight though?" Mishti asked but Shivam only shrugged.

"Do these men...do you... have a family?" Mishti asked curiously but Shivam's expressions changed which made her regret asking it.

The question came in her mind thinking of that man's wife/mother/son/father/daughter or anyone waiting for him at home but what would happen when they would see him in this state?

"Many have many don't. As for me and Om, we lost mom and dad many years ago that I don't even remember there faces. Dad was Ritwik's father's loyal right hand man after his death Ritwik's father adopted me. Men and there family in our life don't always have a happy ending.." He said almost in too emotionless tone but that doesn't mean he don't miss his parents.

"Many of us are spoiled brat who has rich fathers but choose to become one of us and many have faced the hardships in there lives which forced them choose this line. We are said bad but even we have a past, a story." Shivam's words were nothing but truth. But one thing hit her mind in all this.

"You said some of you have families, some don't. What about Ritwik then?" She asked but Shivam shook his head.

"Ritwik is...complicated. He acts rough...hell...he is rough but he has seen too much in 30 years. It's not my place what to tell you. I can't but Ritwik can...only if you are able to break his walls." Shivam's words hit deep in Mishti's mind.

Even Ritwik is a mystery. Everyone has their own problems in life and Ritwik has his too. Even if he looks rough and dangerous, something must have made him that way. Mishti's point of view has changed for Ritwik now.

"Enough of it...it's late...you better go to bed and I would plop down in some other room. Night." Shivam called it a night and Mishti went to her room still thinking about the new information about Ritwik.!
