"Try again!" Mitsuru was yelling at the doctors within Tatsumi Port Island hospital. Makoto had fallen I'll the previous day and had not awakened since. Nobody truly knew why he was dying but they at least had their memories restored. Kotone and Yukari were consoling with each other as they sat in the waiting room worried out of their minds. Mitsuru was forced by the doctors and nurses to sit in the waiting room until they were done examining Makoto. Akihiko, Shinjiro, Ken and Junpei all walked into the hospital and sat with the girls who were worried sick about Makoto. Aigis was off by herself in the corner of the waiting area as she continued to think to herself.

"Takeba... Don't worry, the doctors here are doing everything they can to save him. I'm sure of it." Mitsuru was trying to bring Yukari's spirits up but it was no use, she put her hands over her face as she curled up and cried. The room fell silent with only the sobs from Yukari being heard. "I think it best if we all try to not think about the worst case scenario right now. I'm sure Yuki wouldn't want us being down like this." Mitsuru's advice fell on deaf ears though as everyone walked over and joined Yukari in the sulking. Mitsuru was trying her hardest to not let the sadness she felt overwhelm her as a doctor came out from the back.

"Ms Kirijo, You and those closest to him may enter the room. His other friends will have to wait outside." Mitsuru thanked the doctor before grabbing Yukari, who was still crying but was able to stand and walk down the hall with her. The two were led to Makoto's room as he was wired up to several machines. Yukari slowly walked up to Makoto as he slept. "I'm sorry to have to give you this news... but... He's not got much time." The doctor looked down with a saddened face as Mitsuru and Yukari turned to look at him with sadness in their eyes. The beeping on the machine got slower and slower. Yukari took Makoto's hand as she wept, Makoto didn't awaken but Yukari felt a very slight squeeze on her hand as the beeping of the machine stopped. Mitsuru's eyes weld up with tears as they all realized Makoto had passed on.

"I am very sorry for your loss. Take as much time as you need, when you are ready to leave we'll make preparations for him to be transfered to our morgue. We'll preserve his body for any funerals you plan to have." The doctor then stepped out of the room leaving Mitsuru and Yukari to take in the loss of their friend, Yukari's love interest and boyfriend.

"Takeba, I... I'm so sorry." Mitsuru apologized. She didn't reply back to her though. Mitsuru left the room to inform everyone else. As she stepped back into the waiting room everyone ran up to her but noticed her saddened demeanor and bloodshot eyes from crying. "Don't tell me he..." Ken started. "No way..." Junpei continued. "Not again." Akihiko finished. Everyone was left in a state of depression and none of them could figure out where they were supposed to go from there. Yukari finally left the room as she walked past her friends. "Takeba." Mitsuru called out. Yukari continued out of the hospital as she got on the train and headed back to the dorm. Mitsuru spoke with the doctor and told him they'll make plans for a funeral. Then everyone left back to the dorm. The next several days were spent figuring out just how they were going to continue after the loss of their beloved friend and leader.

"What do you mean the dorm is getting shut down? You can't possibly expect us all to move out not even a month after his passing?" Mitsuru had just gotten off the phone with a school board member as she informed the rest of her friends that the dorm was getting shut down at the beginning of April. "What the hell are we supposed to do now? Just pack our things and leave?" Junpei asked while furious. Mitsuru managed to calm everyone down enough to get them to understand that it's out of their control at the current moment. "I'll do my best to see if my father can do something about stopping the dorm from being shut down. For now I'd like for everyone to pack your things and wait." Everyone got up and headed back to their rooms to pack.

"Yukari-san? Are you awake?" Aigis was knocking on the door to Makoto's old room. Yukari and Makoto had become so close together that Mitsuru allowed Yukari to move into Makoto's room. The current date was March 31st, Yukari in another life time may have been strong enough to push through his death and continue life, but in this one she had grown far too close to Makoto to let him go just after a couple weeks. The clock was ticking closer to midnight as Yukari finally got out of bed and went downstairs. Mitsuru and the others were waiting for Yukari and Aigis as they saw on the coffee table a box with a note on it. Yukari stepped up as she read it, "To the ones who helped bring about a new beginning." Yukari knew it was Makoto's handwriting as she opened the box.
