"Oh god! We killed someone! Well you did... but still! I'm technically an accomplice! Oh no!" Guards come rushing in and get ready to sterilize me once again. The familiar feeling of a needle entering my skin hits me once again, but unlike the other times, I didn't completely lose consciousness in the seconds it hit me. Despite me thinking that I've all of a sudden gotten immune to tranquilizers, I didn't. What happened instead was that I lost all feeling I once had in my body.
My eyes had gotten tired and my vision went blurry. I could certainly see less with my eyes half open. It's like when you're up at five am and you really want to finish the video you're watching, but you're so tired and you're about to pass out. Thats what it felt like, with the added bonus of not being able to feel my body. I quickly stumble onto the ground, before my head hits the hard tiled floor, one of the guards places their hand under my head as support "Be more careful Johnson! They're still a kid, whether they're an anomaly or not!" The man gently placed my head onto the floor, before grabbing my body and swinging it over his shoulder like a ragdoll.
I grumble incoherent words in anger. I'm guessing that either my jaw or tongue already went mostly numb. Damn, that works fast. Despite feeling numb, I could still feel the pressure of the thick and heavy book on my back. The only view I had now was of his back. I'm starting to slowly lose conciousness but can still hear them for now. A guard that was further away spoke "So are we supposed to bring them to the containment that they spawned into, or to an empty one?" The guy holding me spoke once again, he sounded like he was higher up than the rest by the way he was scolding everyone "Spawned? This isn't a video game medley." The guy retorted "What am I supposed to call it then? A whole new room just appeared out of thin air, I would call that spawning in"
The room what? Jesus, what's going on? My consciousness finally fades away. Once I wake up my head is pounding, I'm surprisingly not in the same room that I was in when I first got here. The room I was in looked more like a generic asylum room, they probably chose one that looked like the room I came in. This room only had a bed and it was surprisingly small. There were two doors that I could see, one looked like it was capable of stopping an elephant and another one that was surprisingly normal for this place "Ughh, my head!" I whined. I noticed that unlike the last that when I woke up, the book was still with me. It rested on the pillow that I wasn't using "This isn't super cozy anymore..." I let out a deep breath, letting out some of the stress that I hadn't yet realised that I was holding onto.
"Uhum, so... I spawned that room in? Thats literally insane!" I sit up on the edge of the bed and hold my head while rubbing my temples. A strong gush of wind then passed by me and the book appeared in front of me "What do you want this time??" It opened itself up to the first page and lit up the word "encyclopedia" "You want me to press it?" The book flew closer to my face and I finally let my head go and press the word, but not without complaining "You're so needy, you know that?" I don't know how, but the book somehow looked angrier than before. It begins to go through its pages, the wind from the motions was blowing in my face. It was kind of nice.
After a bit of searching through its own pages, the book stops on the word "do". What was it trying to say? "Are you forming a sentence or something? Keep going." A few page flips later and it spelled out "Do you want the other room back?" It took a bit of thinking on my part, but I soon realized that if I was going to have to stay here then I'd at least want to do it on my own terms "Yes, I do, obviously. Why are you asking?"
As I said that, I could hear a muted alarm going off, it was coming from outside of my room. It was either playing super loud, or the room wasn't very isolated against noise. "We ... ex...ienc... ..ter cla.. loc...... ... safe..." I could barely hear it, but I could safely assume that something was very wrong. Why else would there be an alarm? "You did this didn't you?" I stare at the book. It quickly flies onto my back again, ignoring my question. "So you did this to help me get to my room. I'm just kinda confused about how this would be considered helping."
