ch3: Plot Armor? Hmm..

Klein looked out the window of the subway passively. 

He saw the many ruined and collapsed buildings. A group of monsters, ichthyosuars, gathered to eat a collapsed fighter jet.

What the hell... Klein subconsciously shivered. The group of monsters reminded him of snakes, and he wanted to get as far away as possible.

Klein glanced at the pale man, who looked at the scene outside of the window calmly. Hey, this guy is a bit of an edgelord too.. What was the thing about hating those kinds of people? Klein lampooned inwardly, as if to maintain his humanity.

Coins? Before Klein could contemplate the use, he saw the brown-haired woman approach the pale man. She looked dejected and ruined.

"..Dokja-ssi? Are you okay?"

So, his name is Dokja.. Klein pondered a good way to introduce himself, trying to keep himself calm to not destroy the mood formed by the other humans there.

His mind still felt wrecked. He wanted to swear.

"Yes. This guy's leg was blown off, so I was better off when he tried to fight me."  Dokja gestured at the corpse. "By the way.." He turned to face Klein. 

"Thank you for saving the grandmother." 

"Ah.. No, it's something I should do." Klein felt a little awkward. Am I developing an antisocial disorder?

The woman nodded at Klein before she looked at Dokja's face complicatedly. 

"How is Dokja-ssi so..."

"Yes?"

"Ah, it is nothing. Rather... Thank you."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you threw the grasshopper cage towards my direction.."

"That was only a coincidence. It won't happen again."

"Ah.. I-I understand."

She looked as though she wanted to adapt quickly.

Then, the dokkaebi appeared again.

Seven.. Yes, seven survivors. It's.. a lot more than before. Klein was unsure whether to feel calm or depressed.

Cho is a surname I've never heard of before. Also, Younghee is a bit old fashioned.. So, this is the grandmother's name, and the other feminine name, Yoo Sangah, is the name of Kim Dokja's friend? Klein evaluated the names of the survivors and tried to guess which belonged to who.

He felt the gaze of someone, so he turned his head and made eye contact with Kim Dokja, who was giving him a strange look before turning his head away and approaching the young boy. Ah, it's probably because he yelled that were only three grasshoppers in the cage, and me and the grandmother didn't go and catch mice..
