Chapter 3

  After the success of my initial book I decided to write an update to my life, it might be interesting to someone. So after being published I was approached by the human government and asked if I wanted to be an embassador for them. After many reflections I agreed as it is still less risky than being a general but as important and our image in the eyes of the Kontu Central Govenment needs to be better after the scandal with the armament.

Eondar also became a free heaven for Kontu with the same condition as Khrenta(which was called by humans "selfish syndrome" which I will be refering to it like this from now on) which is great in my opinion. Kontu government didn't like it very much but their expertise in fast colonisation and fusion energy among others allowed humans to reach new hights in a matter of years. These immigrants also allowed us to buld our own nanobot spreaders on the planet as those in the atmosphere were starting to break and the Kontu Central Government stopped theirs after the armament scandal even if I tried to negotiate to have them turned on.

My times in the Kontu society and far away from any humans started to show up just after my resignation as a general as I started to find some common things like for example some hobbies weird. But I still find it better than the militarist society of the Kontus in which every aspect is military centered from the name to the free time usage which I think I never mentioned, they fight to almost death for fun which can last more than a day sometimes and it only happens after they become adults. Khrenta herself participated in them before she had to stop due to her position as a psychologist but she took me once to see it, I don't know how they are that fast and that agile for so long with those natural exosqueletons, they are real killing machines which doesn't surprise that they are militarists. These fights were outlawed by the newly formed government of the United Eondar. Which didn't create much internal tension due to the fact that those with the selfish syndrome had stronger self-preservation instincts.

After 5 cycles or so selfish syndrome Kontu were well integrated into human society as they are close to human nature due to this condition. And I was able to negotiate the ability for us the UE to settle freely in our binary system which has lot of planets which are almost all sacred to the Kontu but they said it will come at a cost but didn't explain what cost which almost made the UE refuse the agreement.

The next 10 cycles I traveled to the embassy in an other star system with my beloved Khrenta which became what humans call "baby sick" even if our species are incompatible which was very cute and very scary due to her remaining yandere tendencies even after all this time. Thankfully it wasn't the only thing she did during the trip as she helped me translate my diary into Kontu language.

When we arrived some Kontu thanked us for what we have done for them which I guess is the fact that KCG doesn't hunt them anymore so they can be themselves and others did the equivalent of booing according to what Khrenta said afterward. Also Khrenta was assigned as my assistant which I didn't feel great about because I am usually the one helping.

After another 15 cycles I saw a few humans arrive to live in the KCG which I found a bit weird even without a migration treaty but who am I to judge. I also saw the start of a construction of a few warship in orbit which I think are even bigger than those that attacked earth which brought bad memories from back then, how much has it been since? 100 earth years? And Khrenta noticed and tried to help as she is an ex-psychologist. Anyway i remembered what they said about the « cost » and send a message to the UE just in case.

The next 5 cycles i tried to understand together with Khrenta what they were building them for but we didn't find out so we gave up and asked directly and the KCG said they found an other empire and are preparing to attack it but we had a feeling that it wasn't true.

After 5 cycles the KCG proposed to be their vassals and i think the UE would try to refuse so this is what i did and they weren't so happy about it.

We traveled back for an other 10 cycles to Eondar as the embassy kicked out for now until reconsideration. It felt like Khrenta is getting baby-sick due to boredom of space travel in small groups. And it's understandable because there is literally nothing to do.

When we arrived the UE somehow already build a few warships and passed into a military economy. Which is impressive but also sad and also some pacifist protested against it. But did we had the choice at that time ?

In the next 50 cycles before the arrival of Kontu warships we build an entire armada and we build an entire secret planetary fortification on a nearby planet or moon i forgot how it counted for a brown dwarf. I was already a lot of things in my life until now but i wasn't an astronomer. Speaking of which the UE asked me to be general again but i refused because i had enough of choosing who lives and who dies.

When the ships arrived, they were in small numbers for some reason and the space battle was visible from Eondar with a telescope and it was beautiful, when you forget what it's about. But you shouldn't forget about what it's about because it's the future of Eondars, humans ans Kontu, after a week of fighting our armada won with heavy losses and our fortified planet wasn't even used.

After 5 cycles due to light lag an apology was sent but the KCG and they said they won't do it again, kinda childish if you ask me but i guess they haven't done diplomacy in a long time. At least it will be more peaceful for a while at least. We will continue our diplomatic work with the KCG to try to not make that happen again.
