I'm Very Sorry

The weather in the morning was predominantly warm, the cool breeze swaying the trees, which brought a slight refreshment to the place. Soarin woke up early and smiled when he saw Rainbow sleeping so peacefully, he got up and walked outside. He needed to find something to eat.

"Something different" He thought, they were tired of the same old things, why not something different? But what? Something on this huge island should cure their appetite.
He pushed aside some large leaves to enter the dense forest, where there were several fruit trees and other food. He could hunt, but that would be a bit dangerous; the most he had ever done was catch a fish. He looked at the top of a tree, it was a coconut tree. Without hesitation, he began to climb it, the height was becoming increasingly apparent, and the fear of reaching the surface was evident. But one climb and he would be at the top. "I can do it," he muttered with difficulty, as he stretched his arm out to try to grab a coconut.

After a few tries, about four small coconuts were in his arms. He slowly began to descend, being careful with each movement, when he reached a point close to the ground he simply jumped. A satisfied smile planted on his lips. Soarin began walking again towards the cabin. After about ten minutes of walking, he realized he was lost. "Great." He muttered sarcastically to himself, walking and walking. He was close to recognizing where he was, but he ended up tripping over something. Before he could regret his fall, his eyes widened as he saw a human skeleton on the ground. It had probably been there for a long time, and had never been found.

He couldn't say a word, his muscles still, his eyes wide. He couldn't believe it, was this his fate?

Meanwhile, Rainbow was waking up, her magenta eyes adjusting to the sunlight. "Good morning Soarin." She said excitedly, she stood up and looked around, there was no sign of the boy. "Soarin?" She asked once more.

Rainbow started to get worried, where could that idiot be? She walked outside and looked around, the sound of the waves crashing, and the birds chirping was the only thing she could hear "Soarin! Where are you?" She brought her hands to her mouth before screaming. She was about to give up, when she saw the silhouette of a boy crouched down. She ran to the figure, and found Soarin kneeling, his hands dirty with dirt, his eyes fixed on the ground. "Hey, are you okay?" Rainbow asked in confusion, he didn't answer right away, just dragged his eyes from the ground to her. "I found a human corpse" He said in a lifeless tone "What? A corpse? Is this our destiny?" She started to panic "Where is he?" Rainbow asked "I buried him" Soarin replied wiping his dirty hands "Why did you do that?" She asked, her eyes teary. Soarin stood up and sighed deeply, he was about to make a statement.

"Look, this may sound silly, but when I was little I didn't go to my mother's funeral." He paused. "I was scared, and I didn't know what it meant, I regret it to this day." A lone tear began to run down his face. He quickly turned his face away. A man who cries is weak. His father told him that. "Soarin, I'm so sorry." Rainbow didn't know what to say. "I just thought he deserved an end." He said, walking away. Rainbow followed him. She wanted to understand what was happening, but her attempts to talk to him were unsuccessful.

"Soarin wait" Rainbow said trying to get his attention "We'll be fine" She said, her tone hopeful "You're so naive, this isn't a movie where everyone lives happily ever after, this is real life, do you really think someone can save us?"

"I think if I think like you I won't go anywhere, I prefer to think that I'll get out of here" She answers confidently.

He doesn't answer, he just keeps his arms crossed and looks at the floor. "Life is cruel, Rainbow, I don't know what to expect anymore." He says, "I don't recognize the biggest idiot in Canterlot High, Soarin Skies, the captain of the basketball team, the biggest flirt of all time, and also the one who isn't afraid of anything." She says, trying to wipe the smile off her face. "What happened to him?" Rainbow took a step forward. "Maybe he doesn't even know."
