"The sun is up"

Missy said as she looked around the place they had to spend the night at.
The sun was just a little over the horizon, the dark forest didn't seem as dark now, little flowers were all around them and the birds were chirping happily. So happily, as if nothing had happened.. as if their kingdom didn't fall, as if their father wasn't dead.

The last though made Missy scrunch her nose, these thoughts were not things she should think of now.
Senna got up unhappy, they all hadn't slept enough, Vivi and Missy hadn't slept at all even. It wasn't easy to sleep on ground, they were princesses after all, no matter how much they seemed to manage with everything, they weren't. All of them struggled, Kami seemed to dream about it, she was trashing around in her sleep, if they had gotten closer to her face they could probably see the tears that were in her eyes.

"What are our next steps anyway"

Vivi said as she hugged her legs, and looked over at the sea.

"The Rikkion Clan, it should have been on the other side of sea. That's were we are headed right Missy?"

Missy nodded back turned towards them.

"The clans leader, Arrok was a good friend of father, he should be glad to see us..the...the news of Akirth should have been out by now"

They all quietened down, the mood lowering. Kami slowly woke up aswell, she didn't have to hear what they had been talking about, as the youngest they were most protective of her.

"We're going to the Rikkon Clan" Vivi repeated, she gazed down at the ground, what had happened to them. They were supposed to be princesses, royalty, supposed to wake up in a comfortable warm bed with no worries in their pretty little minds.

The old days where they could just run around and have fun, where nothing was unachievable for the four of them. Where they woke up and ate food with their dad and could spend time with him in the garden.

"We are all awake.. so let's go now" Vivis voice came out quieter than before, she was struggling as she was the closer with their dad. Kami got up and nodded.
"Yeah let's go so we can at least sleep in comfortable beds tomorrow."

The other three now stood next to Missy all looking at the water, Senna took the first step towards the water. They had to cross the water, it wasn't as deep as a pond, the big water they had seen was now absorbed into the mud leaving just a muddy puddle for them to cross. Missy had her nose scrunched, as she stepped into the puddle following behind her Younger sister. Her nose was scrunched as her clothes soaked in the cold water, she could feel the mud sinking her in as she hurried in her way to not get stuck. The other two sisters followed suit, all had the same faces of disgust and almost agony.

"Father would laugh if he'd see the situation we are in right now"

Kami looked up at the sky, she was the last one to go into the puddle, as the words of vivi sunk she could feel a deep settling feeling in her stomach. They all hadn't said anything yet, but the chances of their father being alive were very low, they would never see him again. The kind hearted smile he had, the way he had always been at their side and never ever had they imagined to loose another parent like this.

"Kami are you Coming?"

Senna asked as she was already stood on the other side of the long puddle, hand on her hip and eyebrow raised the brunette looked at her sister curiously. Even from that far Senna could see the girl clearly, she was known for her sharp senses, the third princess that could hear a pin drop, the third princess that could spot the needle in the haystack.
That's what they used to call the sharp princess, old times that would never come back again.

Kami looked at her sister startled, noticing how almost all of them had crossed the river with little water, the youngest princess kami hurried to get on the other side of the river.

"Guys do we leave Gustav here?"

Kami said looking back at the horse while he was looking back at them. Gustav was Kamis favourite horse, she had gotten it gifted from the Yuran empire to her 6th birthday, before they broke out in war.

"I don't think he would go over the water, the horse is as stubborn as you"

Vivi said as she rubbed her shoe at the grass beneath her feet, the short haired princess looked back at the horse and shook her head.

"You spoiled him rotten"

As Kami finally made it to the other side, her face was red with embarrassment, her older sister's words were true but still uncalled for in her mind.

Kami took one last look at the horse, he seemed to be distracted by his surroundings, kami fought it would be good for the horse to be here, out in the nature, his natural habitat she thought. He is made to he in the forest she said to herself as she hurried after the other three as they had already started walking whiteout her, truth to be hold though the horse wouldn't last a day alone in that forest, he wasn't used to the environment he was placed in.

"Are we walking for long?"

Senna asked to break the tension between them all, the sheer quietness was getting to them all, leaving them alone with their thoughts and fears.

"Shouldn't be too long, do yall think paps would be happy to see us?"
Missy asked trying to cheer up her younger sisters. Paps, that was what they used to call the chief of Rikkon, he was old now, but back when the four of them were kids he used to be a second father to them, the chief had worked along side their father in the Great War of Ikor. The Great War had happened way before the princesses were born, the war that changed the empires they called it. Before the war there had been six empires but after the war only three had managed to hold their grounds, Yuran empire, Akirth Empire, and The Turak empire, they called the war Ikors war. Everything changed after the Great War of ikor, the Turak Empire distanced themselves as much as they could, with the new land they won, they started to build themselves up to the Turak empire of the lonely. No one had heard from them sienve the war. The Yuran empire though started to regenerate their army power, during the war they had lost a lot of land to the Akirth, trough a deal they managed to get everything back and build their soldiers stronger then before, Yuran only concentrated on Power and Control though so the name they had been given was Yuran the strong.

"Akirth..."

Vivi mumbled to herself, she was worried about the conditions of the land, who had attacked them? Why were they attacked. Akirth was supposed to be a peaceful place, Akirth the Serene, Akirth the peaceful. After the Great War of ikor, Akirths new ruler the great emperor Haven said that Akirth would never go to war again, and so they never did, till this moment on. The emperors Wife gave birth to four beautiful children in the span of three years, Missy the oldest, Vivienne the second oldest, Senna the third and Kami the youngest. The princesses all had their own strengths and powers.

"There it is..Rikkon"

Missy said her voice quieter from exhaustion, she hadn't slept all night, the fire, blood and screams just repeating in her head like a mindless loop, all taunting her and not allowing her to close her eyes.

Kami sighed out loud finally giving herself a break, her feet were hurting and her wounds were aching. She leaned herself against Vivis arm hoping for some strength from the older girl.

Soldiers positioned outside looked surprised to see the normally perfect princesses in front of them in such conditions. One called out to the other to get the chief, the other running off the tell the clans people that they had arrived. As minutes passed a few servants came to get the girls, helping them walk inside the clan.

"We will be fine now, behind these tall walls, behind the soldiers with weapons."
