Lina lived in a small, charming house on the edge of a large park, where flowers bloomed and birds sang. She was a cheerful girl with bright eyes and a warm laugh. Her mom was her best friend. Together, they spent every free moment working in the garden, reading stories, and going on exciting adventures. They planted flowers, built little garden houses, and in the evenings, they read stories to each other under a warm blanket.
One morning, when the birds were singing especially cheerfully and the sun was shining through the window, Lina noticed that her mom didn't get up as usual. Her mom seemed tired and said she had pain she couldn't understand. The days that followed were filled with many doctor's visits and long conversations with the doctors.
Mom explained to Lina that she had an illness called breast cancer. She tried to explain as much as she could without worrying Lina too much. "Cancer is like a bad seed in my body," Mom said. "Sometimes it grows and causes pain. The doctors will do everything they can to get rid of this seed, but it will take time, and it won't be easy."
Lina listened carefully and tried to understand what that meant. She knew that her mom needed a lot of help now. She started taking on small tasks around the house. She cleaned her room, helped with cooking, and brought her mom little tokens of love like drawings she had made and fresh flowers from the garden.
The weeks passed, and Mom had to go to the hospital more and more often. Lina stayed with her grandparents, who took care of her with love. Grandpa told her stories from his childhood, and Grandma baked her favorite cookies. Despite their loving care, Lina couldn't stop thinking about her mom. She missed her very much and often wondered how she was doing.
The time in the hospital wasn't easy. Mom had to undergo many tests and treatments that made her very tired. She often slept and had to get used to many new medications. Despite everything, Mom tried to see Lina regularly. The hospital visits felt like little adventures to Lina, but they were also frightening. The many doctors and the sterile environment made Lina nervous.
Mom kept telling her about the clouds. "If I have to go to the sky one day, you will find me in the clouds," Mom said. "The sky is like a big, soft garden. There, the clouds are like huge pillows where you can rest, and the sun always shines warmly."
Lina found comfort in these stories. She drew pictures of colorful clouds and imagined her mom lying on one of those pillows, smiling and happy. She brought these pictures to the hospital and hung them on the wall next to Mom's bed. Mom was delighted with these little gifts and said she would always be in Lina's thoughts.
One evening, as the sun was setting and the sky was glowing in warm colors, Mom took Lina's hand and spoke with a gentle voice: "Lina, sometimes an illness becomes so strong that the body can't keep up. It might be that I will soon have to go to the sky. But I want you to know that I will always be with you, even if I'm no longer in your room."
Lina looked at her mom with big, questioning eyes. "What will happen to you, Mom?"
Mom smiled and said, "The sky is a special place. There, there is no pain, and the clouds are like cotton candy. I'll be there watching over you. Even if you can't see me, I'll always be in your heart. You can think of me whenever you need me."
Lina nodded, even though she was sad. She knew her mom was telling her the truth, but the thought of not being able to see her anymore made her very sad. "I will miss you, Mom."
"I will miss you too," Mom said, "but I will always be with you in your thoughts and memories. You must be strong and remember all the good times we had together."
A few days later, Mom's condition worsened. She slept a lot and grew weaker. Lina spent every free minute with her mom, telling her about her day, her progress in school, and the adventures in the garden. She wanted to show her mom how much she loved her, even if words sometimes weren't enough.
One morning, when the sky was especially clear and the birds were singing happily, Mom passed away peacefully. Lina was very sad, but she knew that her mom was in a beautiful place where there was no more pain. Her grandparents held her close and comforted her while she clung to the beautiful memories of her mom.
Over time, Lina learned to cope with the loss. She began to look up at the sky more often and imagined that her mom was there in the clouds, smiling and happy. She continued to draw pictures of the clouds and the stars, imagining her mom lying on one of those cloud pillows. The thought that her mom was in a wonderful, floating garden helped her accept the loss and find comfort.
Lina found new ways to remember her mom. She began writing stories and having her own adventures, inspired by the stories her mom had told her. Every time she looked at the sky, she knew that her mom was proud of her and was always with her, in the clouds.
And so, Lina continued to live, full of hope and love. She knew that her mom was always in her heart and that the love they had shared would never end. The memories of her mom and the image of her in the soft clouds of the sky accompanied Lina on her journey through life and helped her face life's challenges with courage and hope.
