There was a loud ringing in his ear.
His head hurt as it got louder and clearer.
Was it something out of his dream?
He tried to ignore it and for a moment he thought, it was finally gone, only for it to appear louder the next second.
Beomgyu opened his eyes.
The bright light blinding him as he tried to keep them open.

He pushed himself up from the ground, trying to comprehend his surroundings and where exactly that noise was coming from.
He stared at the grass in front of him, his eyes squinted as he was still trying to get used to the sun. Beomgyu exhaled a deep breath, finally understanding where he was.

The music stopped again and now he could hear the wind brushing through the tall field of flowers and grass.
The sun hitting his skin as he stretched his neck.
As good and comfortable as a field full of flowers looked, it wasn't better than any bed.
Beomgyu's head felt like it had been filled with water that was pressing against his brain.
As if it was trying to escape.
He lay his hand against his head. Must have been the alcohol.

As he took in another deep breath, the music started playing again and he finally reached for his phone in his pocket.
The display exposing Kai's name on it.
Beomgyu would've preferred to turn his phone off and go back to sleep, even if that would mean, sleeping on the hard ground again, but it was already the third time he called him, so it seemed to be important.

„Mhh..."
Was the only thing he could say as he answered the call.
His hand was still lying on his face and his eyes were closed as he tried to concentrate on Kai's loud words. „What...?" Beomgyu murmured.
„Could you repeat that again?"
Kai sighed, very obviously annoyed.
„Where the fuck are you!?"
He tried keeping his voice down, but couldn't quite control his tone.

„We only have a few more weeks left until our mission starts and you just decided not to show up to our meeting!"
Beomgyu's eyes immediately ripped open as he held up the phone in front of his face.
He had slept in and missed at least half of his checkpoint's of today's schedule.
He pushed himself up from the dry grass underneath him, his legs shaky as he only had been awake for less than 5 minutes.

„If you won't be here in the next 20 minutes, I will practice my shooting skills on you."
Kai whispered through the phone in a quite but extremely threatening tone.
Beomgyu put the phone down and ended the call before shoving the phone back into his pocket.
He turned around as he wanted to leave the field, but only then had seen Herin still sleeping on the ground.

One arm was covering her eyes, blocking the bright sunlight.
Her hair was messy as it mixed up with the grass on the ground.
Beomgyu had totally forgotten how they had ended up here.
He could remember them getting out of the bar, but after that, everything was blurry.

Beomgyu squatted down to her, softly grabbed her arm and pulled it from her eyes.
„Hey, get up!"
He tried to whisper, but his voice was too loud.
He needed to go. Now.
But he couldn't just leave her here.
Herin grumbled, switching her pose and lay on the side instead of on her back, away from the sun.

„Herin! Wake up!"
She slowly rolled back on her back, opened her eyes as good as she could against the bright light and then turned her head to Beomgyu.
She blinked a few times, trying to understand where she was or what had happened, but her head was killing her as soon as she tried thinking to hard.

„We need to go!"
Beomgyu emphasized as he tried to pull her up to her feet.
„What...?"
She narrowed her eyes and pushed his hand away. Now Beomgyu felt the same frustration Kai had felt just a minute ago.
So he repeated himself more clearly.
„We. Need. To. Go... I need to be back at the base in less than 20 minutes or I end up dead. So get up!"
