It was a cool summer night in the streets of Kabukicho. The night was alive as always in this part of Tokyo. Afterall, it's known as the Red Light District of Shinjuku. A place where anything and everything is possible, even available, or so is what some who come here believe. However, tonight was not one for seeking pleasure, fun, or anything of the sorts. A detective and his partner, so to speak, came to Kabukicho to speak to an informant. It was usual for the detective to visit the location where the informant worked, but tonight was different.Someone who he saw as the key to making his investigation completely succeed accompanied him tonight. Therefore, more precaution was to be taken. This person, this key, had already been targeted by those being investigated. The Tokyo Manji Gang. One of the most powerful gangs in Tokyo. The detective could not risk anything happening to them, or to the informant who was also risking their life to help.
The bright sign beamed above them. The Claire de Lune gleaming brightly among the other host clubs signs in the street. "Is this the location, Naoto?," asked the detective's partner, Takemichi, turning to look at the tall man with short black hair dressed in a blue navy suit. "Yes. We should head inside quickly. Follow me and do not speak. Let me do the talking.", said Naoto sternly while looking at Takemichi, who was dressed in a black suit and had short tousled black hair. Takemichi nodded in agreement and followed behind Naoto.
They reached an elevator that would take them to the third floor of the small building. Once inside the elevator both men stayed quiet. Takemichi looked down at what he was wearing, "Do you think it was really necessary to wear this whole getup?", he asked. Naoto scoffed, "It would've been a dead giveaway that we aren't company workers if you came in a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers." Takemichi let out a nervous laugh, nodding, "You have a point."
The elevator opened to the third floor. The place was so elegant that Takemichi could not help but stare in awe. The entrance to the host club had crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The hallway leading to a big door had tall pedestals lined up against either side of the walls. With some shorter ones being decorated with either lion statues or big vases of red roses on top of them.
All the decorations in theme with the color of the walls surrounding them– an almost beige or white cream color. Really bringing out the gold and crystal white in the hanging chandeliers. Naoto spoke up bringing Takemichi back to reality, "Remember, let me do the talking." Takemichi nodded in response.
As they made their way inside the host club they could hear the loud sound of classical music and voices. Takemichi noticed that it was mostly men dressed in elegant and expensive suits seated at booths or at the bar accompanied by women dressed elegantly themselves. All of the women donned long gorgeous dresses that looked quite expensive as well.
A blond-haired woman in a long shoulder wrapped beaded silver dress welcomed them. "Naoto! We haven't seen you in a while! How are you?", she said with a bright smile. Naoto smiled, "Doing well thank you. How are you, Mina?". The woman touched his arm while letting out a small giggle, "Pretty good. Is this a friend of yours joining us tonight? I don't think I've seen him before.", she says while looking at Takemichi with a smile. "Yes, he is a new worker at the company, so I thought I'd treat him to a good time. You know, to relieve some stress from working so hard.", answered Naoto, giving a wink to the woman.
The woman nodded while giggling, "Oh yes, indeed. I agree. So, are you going to want her company as always, or would you like to treat your friend here to someone else?" She looked at Takemichi with a flirtatious smile. "I think we both can enjoy the company of Ms. Shinazugawa, thank you.", answered Naoto. The woman nodded, "Of course, I will get her for you so please follow me to your seats."
She took them to one of the white leathered booths that was encircled and located in a back corner of the host club, which had a short glass table in the middle with some champagne bottles in a silver ice bucket and flute glasses beside it. "Enjoy yourselves." Mina said with a slight bow and smile. Naoto nodded thanking her. Takemichi began feeling nervous, especially looking at the expensive champagne bottles placed in front of them on the glass table. "Are we going to have to pay for all of this?", he asked with worry in his voice. "No, we aren't drinking any of it." Takemichi nodded somewhat feeling reassured he was not going to leave here in debt.
