Y/N's POV

The feeling of the wind coming in through my car windows was invigorating. Taking in the autumn air with every breath. The smell of fresh crisp autumn leaves filled my nostrils with ever inhale. " I love fall so much." I muttered. Everything was beautiful and full of color, not to mention I could finally wear all my cute fall clothes.

This had been one of the longer drives I've had to make before hitting anything new. I wasn't mad though. Oregon was beautiful, especially in October. I was traveling around the world in search of new exciting adventures. I had a strong connection to things others thought to be odd or strange. Ghost, witches, urban legends were my bread and butter. I'd been jumping all around the states following what locals had told me about mysterious stories and sightings they had seen.

*Buzz* *Buzz*  *Buzz* my phone rang.

"Hello dad!" I said excitingly.

"Howdy my little pumpkin patch! Are you on the road again?" dad said cheerfully back with just a tinge of anxiety in his voice.

"Yes dad, I'm driving in Oregon right now. I'm right outside of some place called Gravity Falls." I said back.

" Okay honey, I just wanted to check in on you. How is seeing the world and finding new adventures and what not going?" He responded back.

"So far so good. I've seen a lot of interesting things so far." I responded.

"Well, I just wanted to let you know I added some more money into your account so please make sure it transferred over when you have a chance. I should be $10,000 or so." Dad said.

"Dad, I have plenty of money you don't need to keep adding to my account." I said back to him in a pleased but annoyed way.

"I know, I know but I just want to make sure my little pumpkin is all set and taken care of while she's out traveling the world!" dad said gleefully.

"Okay dad I'll check whenever I have a chance to do so but I need to hang up to focus on the road. I will call you at the next rest stop I go to." I told him.

"Alright sounds good and be safe!" He said with some worry in his voice.

I ended the call and focused back on the road. I'm so grateful for my dad and him being so supportive of all the dreams and aspirations I had. I felt a tiny bit of guilt, I'm an only child and my dad's best friend ever since my mother passed away. He was a hardworking man owning many companies. He was always there whether it was putting me through college, paying for my tuition or cheering me up from past relationships that didn't work out. He was just an overall good man. I did think he was going to have a heart attack when I told him I wanted to travel and find adventures and oddities. He eventually obliged and has been supporting me throughout all my journeys.

"Can't hurt to check my account really quick." I said as the road was straight with not winding curves ahead. I picked my phone back up typing in the username and password to my banking account. A loud crashing sound echoed throughout the car suddenly. I checked the rearview mirror to see a giant evergreen tree had fallen onto the road behind me. "Holy shit!" I blurted out still staring at the tree in the mirror. She looked back ahead to see another tree coming down right Infront of the car. I pulled the steering wheel hard to the right trying to dodge it the thick tree coming down seemingly right for me and my car.

*Screech*  *Crash*

I crashed straight into a towering totem pole knocking my head on the dash in the process.

"Ow my head." I muttered faintly to myself. I reached up to touch my forehead that was in pain being greeted with my crimson blood covering my fingertips.
