●LAURENCE
October here was bitter and spared no mercy. The front of Phoenix Drop High seemed even colder. Students bunched together like flocks of sheep quivered all around us. Last October was hotter, it felt like this years August, but there's no point in complaining because mother nature has already decided our fate.
Dante, Garroth and I slowly walked to the entrance of the school, excited for the hot air of the heaters to hit us.
"My sister is gonna be so pissed, I used up all the hot cocoa powder trying to impress some ladies last night." Dante attempted to say in a southing voice, squiggling his eyebrows at some girls walking by. I couldn't imagine being a girl having to deal with guys like Dante all the time.
"How did that even end up happening?..." I sighed into my scarf, watching some of my translucent strands of breath escape from the holes. This weather makes me impatient and as bitter as itself.
"You gotta do what cha gotta do to impress the ladies, am I right?" He nudged the sudden Travis by his side, when did he get here?... Travis stuttered in agreement, desperately trying to impress him. Why does everyone at this school have a stuttering problem? They should seriously get it checked out at this point.
"Dante, I don't think I've ever met your sister before?" Garroth pondered, his voice sounding even scratchier from the dry weather. I am NOT excited to hear him in December. "Yeah me either, she's your twin right?" I said in my smooth, silky, much better voice.
"Yes and yes. I've tried to convince her to meet you guys but she claims you are 'boring assholes who think they're special cause of their looks when really instead of working on their hair they should be working on how to be an actual important member to society.' Her words not mine."
"We've made quite the impression without even meeting her." I chuckled into my scarf. Must be the angry feminist type, I've met tons of those.
"Normally she doesn't judge people before meeting them, but you guys are the exception. Yay!" Dante gave us a thumbs up, and Garroth just frowned.
"Besides hating us, what's she like?" I asked, glancing at Dante lazily before returning my gaze to in front of me. "Take everything you know about me, and then make it do what the ladies do when I approach them." "Disappear?" Dante sighed "Yes..."

I sat alone against the wall by the front doors, knees in front of me with my copy of the virgin suicides resting on them.
Somehow it's October again, the harsh winds paint the highlights of my face a dusty pink. I remember the first time I saw you was sometime in October, it was 6th grade and the only thing I had said that school year was ".........." It's funny how just this July I was asking you for Halloween costume suggestions, already feeling the magic of Halloween. You had laughed at me, but it was ok because it was you. Now the magic is all gone, despite it being October. Perhaps I shouldn't have used it so early. I would say now you're gone but I'm the one that left and now everything I feel is my fault. You're probably fine now, off talking to your other girls as you probably where when you where talking to me. I thought I was special but you've probably said the same things to hundreds of girls.
The overlapping noises of students yelling and talking drives me insane. I'm trying to think why can't they shut up? I put on my headphones and blast music but no matter how much I turn it up I can still hear it. Anthony Kiedis save me.
I move my book and bury me face into my knees, pressing my headphones into my skull.
If he was here he'd awkwardly sit beside me and hug me. It wasn't the best but he tried, and it worked because it was him.

"Oh there she is!" Dante pointed at a girl with her face buried into her knees, her h/c dyed hair draped over her legs. Was she crying?
"I-is she ok?" Travis furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head. "Yeah yeah yeah probably." Dante brushed him off. I don't wanna meet her if she's gonna be crying.
"N/NN!!!!!!" She lifted her head slightly to look at who called her, her lips forming a thin line as she looked at all of us. As we approached she tiredly stood up, taking off her headphones. "Don't you guys walk to school together?" I asked. "Nah she leaves early so she's usually gone by the time I'm up."
"Hi I'm Garroth Ro'Meave, nice to meet you Dante's sister..." Garroth reached out his hand to shake hers "Y/n. Nice to meet you." She shook his hand and forced a smile. Awkwardddddddd. "I'm Laurence. Zvahl. Try not to fall for me." I winked at her, just to piss her off. She opened her mouth but before she said anything Dante coughed loudly.
She just rolled her eyes before smiling genuinely at Travis, revealing her f/c braces. "Hey Travis!!" "Hi Y/n!" Travis smiled back. This is so boring. Why can't it be summer already.
Thankfully, the bell rung a few minutes later. Thank Irene...
