"Brayden, wake up!"

Brayden rolled over in his bed. "Five more minutes, Georgie...."

"No, I'm serious, Brayden. Get up, get dressed, and get out of the building before it gets blown up."

"Wait, what?" Brayden scrambled out of bed. Now that he was fully awake, he could hear loud crashes and bangs rattle the old hotel that the group had made their safe place. "What's going on?"

"We don't know. All we know is that we need to get out of here. Now come on."

Georgie left the room, leaving the door open behind him. Brayden grabbed his clothes and began to get dressed as quickly as he could. Lately we can't get any peace around here. I should have savoured the past couple days where everything was normal. Well, normal for a viral infection.

Zizzy met him and Georgie at the elevator door. She looked panicked. "I-I can't find Zee anywhere. I don't know what happened to her."

"I'll check her room for clues." Brayden went into Zee's room to have a quick look around. "No sign of a struggle." he called. "Hey, there's a vent up here. She most likely escaped through it and sealed it behind her. Plus, her fencing foil is gone. She's probably safe, don't worry.

"Oh, that's a relief." Zizzy said, looking less nervous now. "Now let's just get Pony and get out of here."

One of the stairs was destroyed, so they used a ladder they found in a storage closet to replace it. Pony was just leaving his room when they got there. They collected him and made their way down some more stairs, one of which was on fire, but they put it out easily with the fire extinguisher.

"Alright, let's get out of here." Brayden pushed on the door but it didn't open.

Zizzy sighed. "Maybe putting this much security on the door wasn't such a good idea...."

They heard footsteps running down the stairs. Georgie came around the corner. "I got the blowtorch to open the locks! Quick, let's go!"

"You're still in your pajamas...."

"Yeah, well, I'm 9. You're adults, you should wear proper clothes.

"Now, let's see what in the world is going on out here...." Pony opened the door and his jaw dropped.

"Well, well, well. Look who decided to get out of bed."

Willow and her group were standing in front of the safe place, the gate behind them destroyed. One of her followers, a bear, was clutching a bazooka.

"Why would you do this, Willow? This is our home!" Pony yelled.

"The refinery was our home. Yet you broke into it. You let 2 infected loose into our building. Don't you know how badly that could have turned out? We could have all died. You cruel, cruel beings." Willow smirked.

"We were just trying to save our friend!"

"And by the looks of it," her eyes traveled along the 4 remaining safe place members, "it seems you were unsuccessful, no? What a wasted effort."

You know she's gone, Willow. You're evil.

Willow looked to her followers. "Detain them. We'll keep them all in one place where we can monitor and control their every move."

Brayden and the group were speechless as 4 members advanced toward them, each of them grabbing hold of a safe place resident and dragging them off, weapons poised to attack at any sign of resistance.

We have no choice but to go with them.

"Where did you even get a van from?" Kitty asked, seated beside Felix in the front of the van.

"Stole it. How else?" Willow said, turning to look at her from the driver's seat beside them.

"Willow, do you even have a license?"

"Nope. But who cares? This is literally a zombie apocalypse."

"Not to be a backseat- well, front seat driver," Felix said, "but- I think you should keep your eyes on the road."

Willow looked up to see the van about to drive into a building. She swerved to the right. There was a couple thuds from the back of the van. "Well, hopefully no one died."

Felix took a breath of relief. "You know, I think I'm actually glad I'm not one of the strongest members that I wasn't sent to the back of the van as a guard."

Willow continued to drive. "You know, traffic laws don't apply to apocalyptic situations, do they?"

"No, I don't think so. There's no one to enforce them." Kitty said, then paused. "Wait, you aren't suggesting-"

Willow hit the accelerator, giving a sudden increase in the van's speed to the max. She heard a couple surprised yells from the back of the van.

"Willow, you don't even know how to drive properly! Are you crazy?!"

"Yep!"

The van was wavering around at its top speed, bumping into things as it went. Willow laughed.

They ran over a few infected as they went. "Take that, infected! Hey, that one's riding a bike! Let's get 'em!"

"Willow, I don't think that's an-"

The giraffe on the bike looked up and tried to speed away, but the van hit the back half of the bike, flinging it to the side due to the speed they were going at. She laughed louder this time, filled with energy and excitement.

"-infected...Willow, I think you hit a real person!"

"Oh, who cares? I'm sure they were nobody important."

The van seemed to be going even faster, as if that was even possible. "Hang on everyone, we're taking a shortcut!"

It swerved into the forest, through the trees and grass. Just for fun, Willow drove in a sharp zig-zag pattern, if the wavering wasn't bad enough.

She smirked and clicked Kitty's seat belt button, causing it to retract.

"WILLOW!"

"I LOVE BREAKING LAWS!"

They went over a bump and spun onto the path leading to the factory and its prison. Willow slammed the brakes at the last moment, slightly scraping the wall. She opened the van's door and jumped out, landing on the grass and flopping onto the ground. "That was the funnest experience I've ever had!"

Kitty rolled out of the van, landing face-first on the grass. "That was the scariest experience I've ever had." Felix kept his position in the van, trying to process what had happened.

The back door of the van opened, and Pandy popped her head out. "What were you thinking, Willow?!"

"That was awesome." Georgie said. Pandy tossed him out of the van. "We could have all died! You think we have seatbelts back there?"

Willow said nothing, only laughed.
