The next few days went by a little too fast. She managed to make it on time to all her classes, all from engineering, to science, to aviation, and even scaring; though she wasn't scaring herself, more like assisting. The future scarers need to understand the work environment, and the people who will be helping them with scream cans and doors also need to practice replacing said cans and doors- you know, be the brains behind the operation. The only reason she took the senior only class was to get a look at how everything works, and how she can improve the scaring industry once she's graduated.
But that class is just a small part of everything she's learning. She's gotta give everything else attention too. She's familiar with all the subjects and such; she's always been beyond her peers in things like this.
Though she spent a lot of time taking notes, she also made a lot of observations; making mental notes of who she was classmates with, specific things about teachers rooms and the teachers themselves, whatnot. It's all part of her process of integrating herself into... well, not society, but more so into the class itself, if you catch her drift.
There was an inch of familiarity with the new year. Her professors still didn't pronounce her name right when reading it and she had to go through the painfully experience of correcting them— Members of JOX are still gonna try and cheat off of her; they managed to cheat off her grocery list this time— She is regretful to inform that she is stuck in two classes with Johnny Worthington the Third. He sat next to her today without realizing it. How freshmen her would literally explode from a heart attack. But now she was suffering from other medical conditions; like brain deterioration.
Other than that, the day went by as quickly as someone could ask: "what'd you say your name was again?".
It did indeed feel strange. Like, first she was flying across campus to get to her classes, and now she's walking home. Other students were heading early to Frat Row; Rush Week starts today, and Leasa knows this is when things get busy for her- mostly because she signed on to do way too much volunteer work, but that's on her- or the fact this school didn't have enough staff to do any of this themselves. But she'll comply, being a model student and all.
—Like how today she has to help a small number of her peers transport some scream cans due to them being faulty. She doesn't know why this wasn't done earlier, but like she said before; if she doesn't do it, it doesn't get done.
Currently, she's sitting on her bed, typing up all the required reading material for this year's classes on her laptop. She admits she's read a good chunk of the suggested books during her earlier years of living, but it's not a crime to reread them.
Currently, her roommate was getting ready for the first party of Rush Week. Leasa remembered when she first met Brooklyn, They had nowhere else to put her because she didn't get along with anyone she roomed with, so Leasa was their "last resort" as Leasa had been lacking a roommate after Celia dropped out. Surprisingly, little miss Brooklyn didn't like her either.
Brooklyn was on call with one of her friends, chatting as if Leasa wasn't even there. The only thing they had in common was the fact they shared a dorm and went to the same college. Brooklynn was shorter than Leasa, with thin purple fur, sharp black nails, only one green eye, and short limbs. She had put on a blue and white MU t-shirt and shorts, and she was now applying makeup and such.
This part did remind her of Celia. But Celia would at least talk to her when they- when she would get ready for these parties. Then again, both her and Celia were friendless, with only each other to talk to; Brooklynn on the other hand, seems to be pretty popular already.
Leasa still has to meet up with those students to move the broken scream cans before her night is over, so she's only got a couple minutes before she should leave. She's got her MU jacket on and trust, she is more than ready to go.
She could leave a couple minutes early to avoid the very awkward tension only she was feeling. She got up, shoving her phone into her pocket as she made it for the door.
The hallways weren't bustling as much as yesterday but that didn't mean there weren't a few stragglers. At the end of the hall, the elevator welcomed one single person into its hull.
"Hold the elevator!" She yelled, running down the hallway. Just as the elevator was about to close, someone from the inside put their foot out in front of the doors, making them open again.
She was breathing deeply as she entered the elevator, allowing it to close. Next to her was a short purple and blue lizard with square glasses. While her glasses hid her eyes, the lizards made his eyes look big, like cartoonishly big.
He coughed.
She sighed."C-cupcake?" The little guy held up a tray of white frosted cupcakes. The look of fear and need for validation from his peers was clear as day on his face. Oh, he was a freshman alright.
"Uh... no, sorry." She replied bluntly. She had her phone out, looking at the flood of incoherent texts from the comittee group chat she was added to last night wondering where to meet.
The decline killed the lizard, figuratively of course, causing him to sink into himself, wallowing in his own insecurities.
Leasa was really only paying attention to her phone and not the other person in the tiny room with her. She sent one text and one text only.
"Meet at the Lab."
"Which one?" Said the following message.
Unfortunately she had to specify, and as much as she wanted to reply with some witty response; all she could muster was; "The Door lab."
How quickly her mood could sour. Everything was going decent, and just the slightest bit of annoyance can ruin everything. She shoves her phone back into her pocket and pulls herself together. It's the end of the day, what else could possibly go wrong?
The elevator opens and she walks out, heading straight for the doors. The sky was dark and the wind was chilling. She makes her way across school grounds, not wasting any of her sweet time to get to the Door Lab.
When she got there, she discovered she was the first one to arrive, as she assumed she would be, because she usually is.
Finally, three monsters show up. She unlocks the lab for them with the key card hanging around her neck and lets them inside. She follows them since there's gotta be some sort of supervision— and she has to make sure they don't break into her- the secret liquor cabinet.
The trip was quick and easy. They walked out, pushing a cart of about seven faulty scream cans from the year prior. They were only a couple feet into the sidewalk when two students; a green ball looking thing riding a scare pig and a giant laundry ball covered in polka dots came running past them, knocking down all the scream cans and tripping Leasa.
Leasa fell right onto the pavement, as did her glasses. When she recovered, her hands were scraped, the scream cans were even more broken, and her glasses... were cracked.
'What...?" She sat up, holding her broken glasses with trembling hands. She put them back on to see if they still functioned, and it was to her fortune that they did. Barely.
There are only a few times where Leasa Larv loses her cool- and one of those moments is right now.
The other monsters that were with her called out for her, but she was already zooming down the street after the two monsters she can only assume are reckless freshman- or frat members. There's a good enough chance for either.
She was so mad in fact, she hadn't even realized she had entered Frat Row; her very own version of hell.
Matching their speed wasn't hard, but catching them was harder, because as soon as they entered the 'party zone' she lost sight of them. After a couple short minutes searching, there was a commotion in the main circle.
'Got 'em.' There was no doubt that the ruckus was caused by the two culprits.
When she finally made it past the dispersing crowd who were talking about Fear Tech's Mascot— for some reason?- she saw the same blue polka-dotted monster standing on the stairs of the ROR house, talking to that green guy— and they both were right beside Johnny Worthington.
Now she knew who to blame.
