Leeseo's growing collaboration with Dr. Carver began to attract attention, but not all of it was positive. One afternoon, as she was working on Leehan, she received an anonymous message on her computer. The message was a warning:
"Beware of those who want to exploit your father's work."
At first, Leeseo dismissed the message as a prank or an attempt to undermine her confidence. However, the message's ominous tone left her unsettled. She discussed the warning with Dr. Carver, who took it seriously.
"We should be cautious," Dr. Carver advised.
"There are individuals and organizations that might see your father's technology as a valuable asset. It's important to safeguard both the technology and your own well-being."
As they continued their work, Leeseo and Dr. Carver noticed an increase in suspicious activity around their project. There were unexplained technical disruptions, and several attempts were made to gain unauthorized access to Leeseo's research.
One evening, Leeseo and Dr. Carver were approached by a man claiming to be a corporate representative interested in investing in their work. His demeanor was charming, but there was something unsettling about him.
"Mr. Blackwell," Leeseo said, after he introduced himself,
"I appreciate your interest, but we're not looking for external investments at the moment."
Mr. Blackwell's smile remained, but his eyes were cold.
"I understand, Miss Leeseo. However, if you change your mind, my offer stands. I believe we could be of mutual benefit."
As Mr. Blackwell left, Leeseo and Dr. Carver exchanged concerned glances.
"He seems to have an agenda," Dr. Carver remarked.
"We need to be cautious. There's more to this than meets the eye."
To be continued..
