When I woke up again my head was spinning with a murderous headache. Slowly it became mostly bearable and I noticed that I was lying in someone's arms. When I blinked open my eyes I saw that I was laying on him. I rushed off to the side, but unfortunately I hadn't considered where the bed ended while retreating. I fell backwards, however the fall was stopped abruptly when something held on to my arm, before wrapping itself around my torso twice.
A quick glance down confirmed my guess that it was one of his white tendrils. I looked back up to him only to be met with the sight of his mouth open just a bit too wide, it looked like it was slightly teared open at the ends and it perfectly displayed his very sharp teeth. Honestly I could just call them fangs at this point.
I leaned back, uncertain what the hell he was doing, until he moved his hand in front of his mouth and closed it again after about another second or two... He had just yawned and still managed to make me uneasy with literally just that.
He looked over at me and then pulled me a bit closer, just enough so I was completely on the bed again. "You look like shit." He noted bluntly and I just glared at him in return. "I wonder why." I muttered half heartedly, I started feeling the exhaustion crawl back to me. It was like a noticeable tucking at me to just lay back down, close my eyes. Forget about it all for at least a little while longer, but I obviously couldn't.
"Right, well I can see that you're still pretty tired. Wanna stay here for a while longer or should I bring you back to your home?" He asked before standing up and stretching. I took one last look at the bed longingly, before shaking my head lightly. I wouldn't be staying here, wherever it was. I opened my mouth to answer already, but then a thought crossed my mind that shut me up. What was there to even get back to?
"Family drama?" I heard him ask and I felt annoyed again. "Could you stop with this telepathy stuff?" I questioned him, honestly it was a bit freaky, but I only had to deal with it for a little longer. And then I just had to deal with mom and her boyfriend. I sighed in defeat, yeah all of my options right now seriously sucked. Guess that was just my life for now or perhaps from now.
Suddenly he snapped his fingers in front of my face, I jerked back a little immediately. "Hey, I know you've been through some really awful things, but don't condemn your future to it." he said, a lot more serious than before, but not the dead serious that had sent shivers down my spine some hours ago. "Don't act like you haven't contributed to that, Offender." I counter, silently gritting my teeth. Sure he had helped me in finding Jolene's... Body, but that didn't undo that one unfortunate night. It almost seemed like it had started everything.
"Alright, but I don't really plan on staying in your life much longer. After I bring you back I promise not to bother you." He crossed his arms while speaking and leaned against a drawer standing at a wall next to the bed. "Just bring me back then please." I ask him and after a short moment he nods and extends his arm. I take his hand and immediately fall into the black void of miniature, small spikes once more. Though this time would be the last.
I found myself at the edge of Creek Park, in the shadow of an ancient, twisting tree just a few steps away from the clear creek. When I looked around I saw that he was already gone, I felt a strange sense of emptiness consuming my insides. I wondered if our friend group would stay together or fall apart, well and I thought if I should actually tell them of her disturbing... death. I still found it hard to believe that she was just gone, never coming back.
