When someone saves your life and gives you life, there's gratitude, humility; there's a time you've been so blessed you realize you've been given another chance at life that maybe you did or didn't deserve.

"Raphael dear, make sure you attend the bash tonight. It's your last chance to find someone you will make your wife. If tonight passes by without you showing any interest in women I'll be convinced that you're truly into people of your own sex and I'm going to withdraw you from that CEO position and adopt a grown man who can actually give me what I really what. No offense, Raphael son, but I expect my wealth to be inherited by someone who lives the part."

A stern looking bodyguard read out the text to his boss.

"You have no choice but to attend, boss."

The man was looking outside the large floor to ceiling window with his hands buried inside his pockets. He had really fine features, a work of perfection. He had dark raven hair with unusually dark grey eyes. He had a sharp jawline with a prominent nose and lips beautifully shaped with the upper lip slightly thinner than the lower one. When he spoke, these lips conveyed charisma. He had an elegant structure and was about 6.5 feet tall. He had a smooth complexion that radiated a healthy glow with skin porcelain like. He was wearing a fine tailored expensive suit. He was truly a feast for the eyes.

He just hummed and said,

"We'll go," he said simply, and the bodyguard left the room. Raphael hovered a short sigh and took out his phone from his pocket. He dialed a number and was answered on the first ring.

"Happy?"

He asked, annoyed. He knew that his good for nothing best friend was the one who planted this idea in his mother's head.

"Come on, Raphael, don't be so worked up about this. You'll do great, trust me. You might thank me later." He said with a sleepy voice

"You coming."

"Nope, I'm not."

"I wasn't asking."

Raphael said and ended the call. The man, on the other end, just laughed before trying to catch up on sleep again. It was 7 in the morning, meaning he still had a lot of time before the bash started. Raphael walked to his desk and dug himself into work.

Meanwhile, at a restaurant, a petite looking woman was cleaning up the floor when her manager walked up to her.

"Cheyenne darling, a special customer requires your services at the VIP section." He politely informed. He was of old age, so he didn't treat Cheyenne badly, unlike the others. She politely nodded and finished up before going to the VIP section. There, she found her worst tormentor and her friends enjoying themselves. She approached them and bowed. She signed,

"May I take your order?"

The laughs instantly died down, and Tina, her worst enemy, said,

"We already gave our orders. We just wanted to see you. How have you been little chicken? Still careful with that face of yours?"

Cheyenne just kept quiet, and that angered Tina.

"What aren't you gonna say something?" She sarcastically asked foreigning concern and added,

"Oops, I forgot a poor little mute like you can't talk. Do something you can do, "she said with an evil smirk on her face, "Clean this up, "

She said, dropping her wine glass near Cheyenne's feet. The breaking sound made her catch her breath and close her eyes. She bowed and started cleaning the mess while the trio laughed. She didn't get why Tina disliked her so much. She never said a word to her. All she remembered was being humiliated the first day they met in the restaurant when she accidentally spilled wine on Tina. Nonetheless, she hated herself for being too weak to stand up for herself when someone was bullying her. A lone tear escaped from her eye, and she quickly wiped it off before leaving the place. At lunch, the manager walked up to her once again. She seemed lost, so she didn't acknowledge his presence, but that was until he called out her name. She smiled, and so did the old man.

"Well, let's cut the story short. My daughter was actually invited to his bash for fancy people, but unfortunately, she went outside the country for a business trip. I can't let this just go by, so I want you to have this." He said, taking out a gold invitation card from his suit jacket. The girl used sign language to refuse, but the old man persisted until she eventually gave in. She thanked the old man and went home to prepare for this "bash."

She chose a red knee-length dress that her best friend had bought for her the previous week on her birthday. The dress seemed expensive, and it came with black block heels. She did her light makeup and took a black clutch to go with the look. The event started at 7 and she arrived an hour later. When she walked in at first glance, she felt like she didn't belong. The hall was filled with rich heiresses and prominent businessmen. She walked her way through the crowd, capturing a lot of attention and turning a lot of heads. She made her way outside and was pleased to see a swing. She sat there for a while, happy away from everyone else. She then heard voices from a distant.

"OH my God, Raphael and Damian are here!"

A woman yelled with excitement.

"We have to go ASAP. Maybe one of them will like one of us."

"I just hope it'll be me," another chipped in, and Cheyenne heard their hurried steps going inside. She was so intrigued by these "Raphael and Damian " that she wanted to see. She slowly got up from the swing and made her way inside. There, she found herself in a corner leaning on the wall as if wishing for no one to acknowledge her presence. She found herself captivated by one person. From the first time she looked at him, he didn't even say a word. He just hummed and nodded slightly. Was he a mute? If not, then he really wasn't a fan of words.

She found herself captivated by  him, and, as though out of instict, the man glanced her way. She caught her breath, and less than a second later, he averted his gaze.

"Little chicken what the fuck are you doing here?"

She heard Tina's voice and glanced her way. She was with her 2 friends again. She tried to get away but Tina caught her wrist and asked even louder gaining everyone's attention.

"I said, what is a waitress doing at a rich people's event !?"

Cheyenne instantly regretted why she came.

"Are you deaf or what can't you answer me!?"

Cheyenne knew Tina was doing this just to humiliate her. The crowd started talking within themselves and some of their words managed to reach Cheyenne and Tina's ears.

"Wait what is a waitress doing here? Ain't this an event for the most prestigious families of Country A?"

"She's even out of her uniform and that dress. It's totally fake. "

"Someone just through her out"

The murmurs kept going on and on, and this made Cheyenne tremble. She didn't want any drama she just wanted to be away from her life but look at how it turned out. She played nervously with her fingers and gazed on the ground as Tina continued to insult her.

"What's going on?"

A  deep voice sounded that made Cheyenne stop quivering, but she didn't dare look up. She heard "its Raphael " coming from the crowd. She wanted to see his face but dared not raise her head. It was better to get kicked out with her head hung low than her head high while she couldn't even stand up for herself. She saw shinny black shoes in her view standing beside her.

"Don't you bother yourself with this matter, Mr Quinn. Let me deal with this proletarian scum. "

Tina said with confidence, and the crowd hummed to her defense, nodding their heads.

"Who let this waste of space in here?" He said with a voice lacking warmth.

Tina smirked, pleased with herself, and kept silent, waiting for him to continue. The security team walked up hastily and tried seizing Cheyenne. She didn't fight it, she let a lone tear roll down her cheek.

"Wait," Raphael added, "I was talking about her. I meant this one, and honestly, Miss, I wouldn't be concerned if the proletarian scum you were talking about wasn't my wife!"
