jeongguk was playing with his lip piercing, biting and rolling it occasionally while his eyes darted around the hall.
the hall was adorned with lavish floral arrangements, creating a stunning visual backdrop. it was packed with people jeongguk didn't know personally, as it was the screening event for his new movie, which he would be directing with his lead actor and boyfriend, kim taehyung.
while directing or writing was usually manageable for jeongguk, the stakes felt higher when taehyung was involved. despite the stress, he was excited for the event.
they wouldn't start filming until next year, and this screening party was meant to be a joyous occasion. jeongguk had imagined walking into the hall with taehyung, their hands intertwined, proudly showcasing that taehyung is his.
but
half an hour had passed, and he remained in the same spot, waiting for taehyung. the last-minute change in plans, with jimin and ji-young arriving late and taehyung going to pick them up, had left jeongguk feeling unsettled.
as jeongguk and his friends entered the venue, the media swarmed them with questions about taehyung.
jeongguk answered as best he could because taehyung had instructed him to keep quiet. following taehyung's directive, jeongguk posed for a few pictures before making his way inside with the rest of the group.
"come on, why are you sulking?" yoongi's voice cut through his thoughts. yoongi, sipping his wine with his usual nonchalant expression, was clearly enjoying teasing jeongguk.
"i am not, hyung," jeongguk retorted, rolling his eyes at yoongi's teasing smile. jeongguk had always found yoongi to be reserved when they first met, but now, yoongi was the group's resident teaser, especially since he wasn't tied down by a relationship of his own.
jeongguk glanced around the room and checked his phone once more before heading toward the bar. he was stopped in his tracks by the blinding flashes of cameras as a celebrity arrived.
he smiled as he saw ji-young and jimin, posing gracefully for the media. ji-young and jimin, alongside yoongi, were the top figures in their respective business fields.
his phone rang, and his face lit up upon seeing the caller id: "boyfriend♡."
he answered the call, only to hear taehyung's hurried voice: "ggukie, come outside!" the call ended abruptly.
