Kimoni's POV
Three months later, I was sat across Ray's lap, feeling the familiar jabs and kicks of our baby girl. Yep that's RIGHT, we having a girl. Her tiny feet were taking aim at the spot where Ray's hand rested on my belly.
"Ouch! Shit, girl!" I groaned.
Ray looked up from the laptop with a puzzled expression. "What's up?"
"Every time you touch my stomach , she goes full Olympic medalist" I said, grimacing. We'd found out we're having a girl a few weeks ago. Just Ray and I knew, and we were planning a gender reveal and baby shower sometime this month. I thought we'd waited too long, but Ray was adamant about it.
"She's just showing her love for her daddy," Ray cooed, rubbing my belly with affection. I glanced down at the laptop where we were scrolling through house listings. Our current place was feeling more cramped by the day. With a baby on the way, we needed more room.
"I'm feeling this one," I said, pointing at a four-bedroom house with a big backyard. "Looks perfect."
Ray stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Yeah, I saw that one too."
"How many agents did you reach out to?" I asked.
"Four. We've got appointments at 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM today," he said, resting his head on my shoulder.
I pushed him off playfully. "Get your head off me, your beard is scratching me."
As I shifted, our baby girl kicked me hard in the ribs. I jumped, and Ray burst into laughter.
"You and your daughter are gonna be banished to the couch if you keep this up," I teased.
Ray's laughter only grew louder. "Alright, alright, I'm done." He wiped a tear from his eye. "I already love you so much," he said, rubbing my belly. Another kick landed right on his hand.

Today was our first house tour. The first agent brought us to a spot in West Seattle. The neighborhood seemed chill, and the house was a modern, cool brown brick building. I was feeling it from the outside. It was close to a daycare and my job, so the forty-five-minute commute wouldn't be an issue.
"Want to check it out?" the agent asked, smiling.
We followed her inside, and a cold breeze hit us as she opened the door. "Well, we know the AC works," I joked, trying to ease the tension.
The interior was spacious and white, with clean lines and modern finishes. It was honestly beautiful, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it wasn't quite right.
"This house was built in 2015," the agent said, leading us through. "Only three families have lived here. Never heard of any issues with the neighborhood. It's about 2,000 square feet on each floor."
Ray and I scanned the space, both taking mental notes.
"So, what do you think?" I nudged him.
"It's nice, but it's a bit pricey for this area," Ray said, his voice tinged with doubt. He had a point; the cost was higher than I expected.
"Let's check out the upstairs," I suggested.
We climbed the gray wooden stairs, which had rounded edges—great for a toddler learning to navigate stairs.
"Do you think this place is easy to baby-proof?" I asked the agent.
"It should be," she replied. "There have been multiple families here, and I haven't heard of any safety issues. But you might want to add your own touches to make sure everything's secure."
