A/N: Oh boy......it's the origin chapter. This one is probably the longest chapter I've written so far and probably the longest in volume zero (and I wanna keep it that way) cuz like I know there's probably gonna be longer ones in different volumes. This chapter is also the hardest one I've written so please excuse the writing if it's bad. I would also appreciate if you guys give me some critiques and advice on how I can make my writing better for future chapters. It would mean a lot ^^.

Btw, this chapter does not have any art but will be updated when there is ^^. Anyway, sit back and I hope you enjoy chapter two!!

5 Years Earlier
Shizuoka Japan, March 10

It was a normal, busy, day with kids getting out of school, people working to provide for their families, and heroes patrolling in different parts of Japan. Somewhere located in Shizuoka, lived a household of three belonging to the Shimuras. There, was Hikari making dinner for her family to welcome back her husband who was returning from an undercover mission in Tokyo after being gone for two months.

Hikari was listening to the radio while cooking and broadcasting was the latest news about the undercover mission being a success and all the victims were saved from human trafficking. The heroes who were part of the mission were returning home from their long mission. She could only think of how tiring it must've been for her husband and the rest of the heroes involved and traumatizing for the victims. All that was important to her was that everything went well, and she will soon be reunited with him.

Further into her cooking, she was interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing, it was her husband. "Ookami? What a coincidence," she said as she lowered down the radio and answered her phone.

"Hi, Ookami," she smiled. A husky voice replied back, "Hey, Hikari! How's it going??"

"Everything's going good. I was just about to start making dinner for you when you come home. It's barbeque wings and onigiri, your favorite," she said smiling.

Although he's only been gone for two months, to her it felt like forever since he heard his voice. He wasn't able to have contact with anyone during his mission and was in a secret base and undercover the whole time.

Ookami chuckled, "I look forward to it then. All I've been eating for the past two months was instant ramen and curry in a cup, so I know I'll enjoy it especially if it's made by you."

Instant ramen and curry in a cup for two months?? That doesn't sound appetizing.

"Speaking of home and stuff, there's something I have to tell you," Ookami's voice changed from excited to perturbed. Hikari raised an eyebrow, "Oh, what is it? Is everything okay, your voice changed."

Ookami cleared his throat, "Yeah, everything's fine. Listen......something came up and they need numerous heroes for this. From what they know, the villain has some sort of shapeshifting quirk, and they need me for the job, so I'm not going to be home for the next few hours. That's why I called-"

"Are you serious??" Hikari interrupted. "There are other heroes with quirks similar to yours. Let someone else take it. I understand that this is your job but there are going to be times that family is first. You've been gone for two months, and you have a daughter waiting for you so please, just come home."

Ookami sighed, "Hikari, you know I can't do that. It feels wrong to say no to a job like this. I'm sorry, I'm not just doing this for the citizens safety but for you and Nazareth's safety. You have to understand that."

Hikari stayed quiet and speechless. She does understand that it is part of his job to help people but the thought of him dying on his job is her biggest fear and haunts her on a daily basis especially if he's gone on missions.
