Angelica skipped the sorting. She was too tired and didn't yet want to face everyone's prying eyes, so with that, Angelica found herself alone once more, not that she couldn't keep herself busy, she had done it many times before. The sorting was probably finished by now, and her roommate should have been back already. Angelica glared at the bed beside her, who did that belong to?
Everyone was bound to go to sleep now, but Angelica couldn't bring herself to, she was still too excited.
When suddenly she heard a knock on the door. "Angel? Are you still up?" A quiet voice asked. She quickly got up at the familiar sound of her cousin, she opened the door and sent him a smile. "I almost forgot to wish you a happy birthday." Draco said with a smile, handing her a small box, you could tell that Draco tried to wrap it himself, it was rather scruffy. She slowly unwrapped it, to reveal a dark green box, when she opened it she gasped at the beautiful sight.
A diamond bracelet. "Draco, I mean, I couldn't possibly take this, it must've cost you a fortune. She said, her eyes almost welling with tears. "Yes you most definitely can take it." He said with a small laugh as he pulled it out of the box and clipped it onto her wrist. "It really does look beautiful, thank you" She said smiling. "Are you up for an adventure?" He asked, Angelica looked at her watch, 10pm.
Her first adventure, how exciting. This was something she couldn't miss. She bit her lip to avoid squealing to loud and nodded. Draco quickly grabbed her hand and they began running through the corridors. This is probably the happiest Angelica has been, this is the exact moment that she felt utterly and truly free. For the first time in her life, she was doing exactly what she wanted to do.
She wanted more. She wanted this blast of adrenaline to last forever, the rush that she got simply from staying up after curfew. The pair ran up a flight of stairs, almost making Angelica lose her breath.
"This is the astronomy tower, me and my friends come here to hang out." Draco said in a whisper as the pair finally reached the top, hopefully these were to be Angelica's friends too. "Guys, I want you to meet my cousin Angelica, she's joining our year, " He began. Angelic looked around at the three boys and one girl sat in front of her.
One boy had dark skin and a really beautiful smile, he leaned back on the railing behind them, A boy sat next to him looked like he was about to fall asleep and- oh wow
Angelica at the boy next to him, nudging him awake. She looked at his olive skin and how it shined in the moonlight, his brown curly hair fell so perfectly over his enticing grey eyes, grey eyes that looked so familiar yet so different. He just looked so... beautiful.
Angelica had read about moments like this in books, of girls meeting boys and suddenly feeling at a loss of breath at the site of them.
Oh god.
That's when he looked at her and their eyes locked contact. She felt truly taken aback,
