--3rd Person POV--

"Crap! Why isn't he answering back? Is there something wrong with this thing?" Tsukauchi paced around the office, his finger rapidly flicking across the scroll bar of his device's settings list. Was this a cyberattack sent by the commission? It's unlikely for them to go through such an effort, with them being in charge it would make no sense for them to take action in self-sabotage unless they feared some sort of mutiny or far-fetched uprising.

Did they know? His mind echoed. The possibility of such made quick work to clear the anxious haze in his mind. If it was untrusted grounds, then why redirect? Why not call out? Why not force accountability?

If they knew we harbored and freed Polterheist on the same day, why not take action? Bystander effect? No. Maybe surveillance. His supervisors know better. It's not enough to put a kid in a condemned row without trial, but that situation was attached to something beyond his and the Chief's knowledge.

If they and everyone in the building weren't getting discharged because of that, they must know what they are doing is equally wrong. Public outrage was a possibility, but it could be taken as hearsay. While this claim would be supported by almost everyone else 'let go', the commission could very easily put this outcry asleep in an instant. They had methods. A card to pull that worked in their favor.

The sound of a door brought the detective back from his stunned gaze. The chief of police stepped into the room with a solemn nod, trailing behind was a visibly pissed Aizawa with a sharp glare.

"I-Island does not follow the extradition treaty" The weary teacher began as if his ears were all hearing, already having thought of every possible action on his long forty-minute drive. "We would have zero authority or jurisdiction to make a move. Anyone arrested there stays there. This is exactly what needs to happen with Polterheist, as I-Island does not have capital punishment."

Looks like the chief has Aizawa all caught up... "Aizawa. Sir." He greeted and began, "I'm well aware of the extent of our power, but we have to warn them in some way."

It would have been quite silly to have driven all this way to tell him something like that. If it wasn't obvious, the underground hero had more to offer, the chief had made a single input on his behalf to aid in the situation. "What is it that you're not telling me?"

"We've been granted authority, Woof!" The chief barked. Making the detective's eyes fly open.

"You've been able to contact them?" He said dumbfounded, his grip on his phone twitching in silent aggravation towards its reliability. Every connection or number has led to instant disconnection up until this point, "I've tried every device, every phone in the office to make contact and warn them!"

"Woof!" The chief raises his sizable paw, a silent gesture to reassure the man of his worries. "I-Island's board of directors has been warned of the terrorist lurking within their walls. Woof! They've taken action to tread wearily until they can fully pounce, which won't be until we get Eraser Head on standby. He's the only one who can stop Polterheist, Woof!"
