Jennifer Miller had always been the quiet girl who preferred reading fantasy novels over participating in school activities. At 16, she was starting a new chapter at Waverly High School, a prestigious institution known for its academic excellence and diverse student body. Jennifer’s parents had moved to this new town for a fresh start, and she was determined to make the best of it.

On her first day, Jennifer walked through the grand entrance of Waverly High with a mix of excitement and anxiety. The hallways buzzed with the chatter of students reconnecting after summer vacation. Jennifer found her locker with ease, but the real challenge began when she tried to find her first class.

As she wandered through the hallways, Jennifer stumbled upon a room labeled “Magical Studies.” Curious, she peeked inside. The classroom was filled with books and artifacts that seemed straight out of a fantasy novel. Before she could react, a student with striking blue eyes and a mischievous grin appeared beside her.

“Lost, are we?” the boy asked, his tone both teasing and friendly.

Jennifer blushed and stammered, “I—I'm just exploring. I didn’t mean to intrude.”

“No intrusion at all. I’m Alex, and this is my favorite place in the school,” he said, extending a hand. “You must be Jennifer, the new girl.”

Jennifer shook his hand, still unsure how he knew her name. “Yes, I’m Jennifer. How did you—”

“Word travels fast in this school. Plus, I’ve got a knack for finding lost souls,” Alex replied with a wink.

As they chatted, Jennifer felt a strange sense of familiarity with Alex, even though they had just met. He seemed to have an air of mystery about him, which made Jennifer both intrigued and cautious. They parted ways after Alex gave her directions to her class, but as Jennifer walked away, she couldn’t shake the feeling that her day was far from ordinary.
