Wooyoung POV
"Baby, but what are we supposed to do with all this food?" San asked, folding his arms across his chest, watching me from across the kitchen counter. "I made enough for all the guys and now they cancel... all of them?" he said disbelieving. "Even Captain?" he accused.
I shrugged, my phone still held aloft in my hand as I grimaced, hating to be the bearer of bad news. "San-ah I don't know what to say. Joong said he was tired and he and Hwa were just staying in, going to bed early."
"I'll bet." San interjected sarcastically.
I smiled, swatting at him, my hand connecting with his round bicep. "Stop." I scolded. "You leave them be. "I think it's cute they've been sweet on each other lately." I defended them. Mingi had to do something with his family- his mom needed him, I guess. Yun won't answer so he may still be coming, but he hasn't texted back."
"And Yeo? Jongho?" What are their excuses?"
"Jongho honestly just said he didn't want to hang out. Said he saw us enough at practice this week." I chuckled. "Yeo is trying to make it, but he had plans with Soobs and Terry, remember?"
"Well, fuck. What am I supposed to do with all this food? I made enough for eight and we'll never be able to put a dent in it."
I looked at the kitchen- an array of pots and pans scattered haphazardly, the sink full of soaking prep dishes. I felt awful, even if it hadn't been anything I had done. I inhaled deeply, the smell of food thick in the air. My boyfriend had worked hard, cooking for hours. I opened my mouth, starting to suggest... something.
I stopped myself, an idea forming... a slow smile spreading over my lips.
"Oh no- I know that look..." San complained. "What are you thinking?"
"I know exactly who to invite over."
"Who?" he asked, his eyes widening at the prospect of his hard work not going to waste.
I was already lifting the phone to my ear, listening to it ring, holding a finger up to silence him.
It rang a few times, making me nervous enough to pace a bit, wandering away from my stricken looking boyfriend.
The phone sound clicked and a loud, specific "Yah?" answered, making me smile excitedly.
"Binnie!" I greeted excited, catching San's eyeroll in my peripheral vison, ignoring it wholly. "What are your plans tonight, are you busy?"
"Woo..." His voice was distant, slightly annoyed, like he was on speakerphone. "I mean...kinda...?" he answered nonspecifically. "Why?" he finished, the last more serious.
"Are you on speaker?" I accused.
"Yeah, why?"
"Why am I speaker?" I asked- hating when people had me on blast.
"I...uh, Felix picked up... I didn't have a free hand."
"Oh." I conceded. "Hey Lix." I added, cutely. I loved Changbin's boyfriend- I found him absolutely adorable, actually.
"Hey, Wooyoung." His deep voice spoke. "What's up, man?"
"Not a lot..." I started then blinked, fully processing Bin's words. "Wait...Why do you not have a free hand, Bin?" I asked, my eyes going wide. San sidled up next to me, a smirk curious smirk lifting the corner of his mouth. I was suddenly intensely interested in what was happening on the other end of the call.
