As the audience erupted in applause, rain stood beside phayu, his boyfriend, watching him with adoration like fan and peers of them. He could see the way everyone fawned over Phayu, the way their eyes sparkled with infatuation.
Phayu was everything rain admired-handsome, talented, and effortlessly charming. But as phayu smiled and waved, posing for countless pictures, rain felt a twinge of jealousy claw at his chest.
After the event, rain couldn't shake the feeling being possessive because of what happened after event show happened last week, that planner girl makes him want to crush her.
He knew phayu loved him, but the thought of others wanting what he had made him uneasy.
The days following the event grew heavier with rain's possessiveness. He found himself scrolling through social media, staring at fans' posts and comments about phayu. "Adorable" "Handsome" "so talented," "perfect boyfriend material." Each word felt like a knife, twisting deeper into rain's heart.
Phayu, on the other hand, remained blissfully unaware, wrapped up in his upcoming projects and the occasional flirtation with fans that felt harmless.
He always had a way of making everyone feel special, and that included rain too, but rain was beginning to question everything.
Did he mean it last week?
or
Did he just say it to make him feel okay?

Now, a week had passed, and those feelings hadn't faded. Instead, they'd grown into something he felt he couldn't express. Rain had always prided himself on being open, but this protectiveness was new territory.
He felt as if it had crept into his heart, wrapping around it so tightly that it felt dangerous. He felt possessive that almost urge to kill someone, but he hated the idea of being that kind of guy-the one who stifled growth, who sought to cage their partner.
One evening, as rain was wallowing in his thoughts, he received a video call from phayu. The screen lit up with phayu's playful face, the way it always did, the familiar ruffled hair, those expressive eyes shimmering with concern. Rain could see the question forming on his lips even before he spoke.
"Hey, baby. Why've you been avoiding me? You've been quiet. I miss you."
"It's nothing, p'phayu" rain replied, trying to keep his tone casual. "Just busy with work."
"Come on," Phayu pressed, leaning forward, the light from his desk casting shadows on his face.
"I can tell something's bothering you. You know you can talk to me, anytime. Right?"
Rain felt heat rising to his cheeks. He opened his mouth to respond, but the words got stuck in his throat. Instead, he turned away his head to not p'phayu see how angry him to himself.
"it's nothing p'phayu. Please believe me." rain sighed and putting an act to make phayu believe him. But phayu studied rain's profile, the way his jaw tightened, and his shoulders hunched.
