The day started like every other normal day in the dull town of Neighborville.
The sun as shining, the birds were singing, and four humans were plowing a field near the forest. All four humans were working to build a greenhouse to place plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables inside.
These four humans were always hard at work. In fact, it'd be hard to find a human or plant in town who wouldn't say that they are the hardest worker arounds. David Blazing III, also known as Crazy Dave was one of the best gardeners in all Neighborville, the second being his best friend, Harvey Flaxcaster.
But all of of their work, however, meant that some things must be needed. Wallance Alphabet was probably the least sociable of all of her friends in the due to his job as a scientist, and he will be a great help for the new greenhouse. And Solarite Henderson, one of the best police in the town, or city, she have offered to help as well.
But what they didn't really notice. They just continually focused on their work that they didn't notice a strange smell. It is also a warm summer month that there was barely a breeze to cool down the heat wave.
The humans kept plowing through, though. Crazy Dave would occasionally wipe the sweat from his forehead with his hand, and would keep on working. As the sun was starting to set, the humans could hardly feel their hands and legs anymore. Crazy Dave took a deep breath through his nose, sucking in the clean air.
Instead of the normal, beautiful smell of nature, the human smelled something different. It was something...rust, that came to the forest. And it enticed him to figure out which are of the forest was coming from that smell.
"David? Where are you going?" Solarite asked.
"I've swore I smelt something rusty in the forest, better check it out" Crazy Dave answered, making his way to the huge maze of trees and bushes.
"I'll go with you" Wallance offered, the last thing he didn't want is Crazy Dave getting lost.
"We'll be here if you need us!" Harvey called out to the two leaving.
The humans followed the strange scent, which eventually led them to a specific area in the forest, a small clearing. The unpleasant aroma seemed to be recent, or old. Both humans slowly approached, and looked what was in the clearing, their eyes widened in shock.
Three young peashooters laid in a small pool of crimson colored water. A red one with fire, a blue one with ice spikes, and the last one green with a single leaf. They seemed to be injured, the red one had only a scratch over the head, as if they got their head hit by a stone. The second one had their left eye all scratched up to a point that it was ripped away, leaving a black hole that used to be the left eye. The green one...was worse, the right eye was deeply scratched that can affect the vision, the right arm...was ripped away along with the right side of the stem that is skin, one of the left leaves that are legs have a hole, the mouth was also scratched.
All three so young...both males know who could do it, but no confirmation. Both humans approached the three injured plants cautiously. All seemed to be alive, but unconscious, and by how skinny they were, it was a sign that they haven't ate anything.
"Who did this?!" Crazy Dave asked in horror.
"No idea, but we gotta help them, either the hunger or the blood loss will claim their lives" Wallance spoke desperately.
Crazy Dave grabbed the green one, while Wallance grabbed the other two. Both humans quickly ran away with the young plants. As they arrived, Harvey and Solarite were sat down in a table they setted up before they noticed the two humans and quickly stood up seeing the plants.
"Solarite get the first aim kit!! We got wounded!!" Crazy Dave yelled.
"What happened?!" The woman asked in shock.
"We found them like this" Wallance replied, placing the two plants gently in the table, while Crazy Dave took care of the green one "I believe some zombies attacked them, there was no sight of their parents or anyone else"
"You mean they are...orphans?" Harvey uttered.
"Probably." Wallance cleaned up the red peashooter first before cleaning up the blue one.
Crazy Dave already cleaned up the green one, and placed the little kid in the table "well, we can take care of them" He suggested.
"If we're going to take care of them, we should probably name them" Solarite said while placing the bandages on the red peashooter's head.
After a while in healing and cleaning, the three peashooter seemed to regain consciousness and ability to breathe, but they remained asleep right now.
"Thank God they are alive" Harvey sigh in relief.
"Well, we should probably give them names, what should we name them?" Wallance asked.
"I'd like to name the red one Flamingstar" Harvey spoke, pointing at the first one, that is a fire type peashooter.
"Why a long name tho?" Wallance asked.
"Well, we can call them Flame for short" Harvey pointed out.
"True, true...what about the other two?"
"I'd like to take the blue one Blizzard, she seems to be a little girl" Solarite smiled, looking at the snowpeas.
"And the last one?"
All three turned to Crazy Dave who was thinking. Brainstorming any possible names while looking at the last peashooter. Crazy Dave stared at the young peashooter, he felt as if this plant was someone...special, but he shook it off. Blizzard was cold as a true snowstorm, Flamingstar is like a blazing star...maybe...just maybe...Crazy Dave looked at the forest where he and Wallance found them, and then turned back to the kid.
He knew what to call the little boy...
"His name...
Is Forest"
