Author's POV:

Hariday's heart fluttered with anticipation as he glanced at his phone, which buzzed with a video call from his mother, Falguni. It was a rare opportunity; the network issues in the village had made it difficult for him to call her often. Today, however, the connection was clear, and Hariday's face lit up as he answered the call.

"Hi, Ma!" Hariday said, his voice brimming with warmth.

Falguni's face appeared on the screen, her eyes twinkling with motherly affection. "Hello, beta! How are you doing? I hope everything is well."

Hariday chuckled, "Everything's fine, Ma. Just busy with work and preparing for the shoot. You know how it is."

Falguni smiled, "I understand. I just wanted to check in and see how you are. We don't get to talk often enough, especially with the network issues over there."

They exchanged pleasantries, and as the conversation shifted to lighter topics, Hariday's excitement to see Mahalaxmi later in the day still lingered in his mind. As the call began to wind down, Falguni's gaze softened, and she asked, "Hariday, what are your thoughts about Yazmin?"

The question jolted Hariday out of his reverie. "Yazmin? What about her?" he asked, genuinely puzzled.

Falguni's expression shifted slightly, revealing a hint of concern. "I thought you knew. Kamal Dhanraj has proposed Yazmin's marriage to you."

Hariday's eyes widen in disbelief. "What? I had no idea about this. Why wasn't I informed earlier?"

Falguni's brow furrowed. "Well, Anvika mentioned it to me, and I assumed Sanjay would have told you."

Hariday looked even more bewildered. "Sanjay? But I haven't heard anything from him about this. Why wouldn't he have told me?"

Falguni hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. "I'm not sure, beta. It's possible that there was a miscommunication or that Sanjay was waiting for the right moment to bring it up. But since you haven't heard anything, I thought I should let you know."

The silence on the call grew heavy, with Hariday's mind racing. He had always trusted Sanjay, his best friend, with everything. The fact that Sanjay hadn't mentioned something so significant left him unsettled.

"I see," Hariday finally said, trying to process the information. "This is quite a shock. I didn't expect it at all."

Falguni offered him a reassuring smile. "I know it's a lot to take in. Anvika and I just want the best for you. But remember, you have our blessings no matter what decision you make."

Hariday's gaze softened as he took in his mother's words. "Thank you, Ma. I'll talk to Sanjay and figure out what's going on. I just wish I had known sooner."

Falguni nodded, her eyes reflecting a mixture of sympathy and understanding. "I understand, beta. Just remember that we're here for you. I'll leave you to it. Take care, and give my love to Mahalaxmi."

Hariday nodded, his expression filled with a mix of gratitude and concern. "I will, Ma. Thank you for letting me know."

With a final exchange of warm farewells, Falguni ended the call. Hariday sat there, his mind swirling with questions. Why had Sanjay kept such important news from him?

Author's POV:

Sanjay emerged from the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, water droplets still clinging to his chiseled frame. He looked undeniably impressive, his physique accentuated by the glistening drops. Hariday, seated on his bed, was deep in thought; his brow furrowed in concern.
