Wen Ning’s head was slightly lowered and his arms hung down, as if he was a marionette waiting for the orders of his master.
"What have you done Wei Ying.." seethed Wen Qing while still hugging the silent Wen Ning tightly. The Jiang sect's head disciple refused to respond, his sect siblings didn't know how to defend him this time around either.
His face was pale and delicate, and could be considered handsome in a melancholy sort of way. However, there were no pupils in his eyes, but only a flat cloud of white, along with a number of black, cracking lines which climbed up his face from his neck, so the melancholy turned into a frightening gloom. The lower hem and sleeves of his robe were ragged and torn, showing a pair of wrists that were the same ashen shade as his face, with black cuffs and chains on both his wrists and ankles. The tinkling sound was produced when he dragged the iron chains on the ground. If he stopped moving, everything would be silent again.
The girls association all faced each other before facing the cute Wen that stared at the screen without any expresion. They than turned to his younger self, Wen Ning held a similar expression, but the age gap was evident. Not only that, Wen Ning's face was squished, showing his fluffy baby fat as his sister hugged him tightly in her arms.
Almost immidiatly they forgot what the original thought process was, and amused themselves with how cute the boy was!
It wasn’t hard to guess why all of the cultivators were scared out of their wits. Wei WuXian wasn’t any calmer than any of them either. In fact, the storm in his chest had already crashed over the top of his head.
Some scoffed - that monster was his own creation, why panic now?
Jin Gaungshan eyed the Wei Ying across the room from himself that looked completely downcast - he'd been silently watching all the gentry sect leaders trying to get the boy's attention and excessively praising him, and the man couldn't help but wonder what kind of benefit would it be to get him to his own side..?
He hadn't bothered before because of what had happened in Gusu before all of this started, if the boy had animosity toward Zixuan he would most likely not like him either..
But really all he had was demonic cultivation and a few inventions. This whole thing was also likely to stop him from choosing the demonic path, was he really worth the struggle if that great power weren't allowed to him?
If not power, than.. as he looked at the young boy, he scrutinised his face. Perhaps. Guqngshan concluded his thoughts with a smirk, before turning back to the screen like he'd never looked at Wuxian to begin with.
It wasn’t that Wen Ning shouldn’t be here, but that Wen Ning shouldn’t be in this world at all. He was turned into ashes even before the siege at Luanzang Hill.
"This is getting so confusing.." mumbled a Nie sect cultivator and their hier nodded, eagerly agreeing with the older disciple.
"Luanzang hill.. why would there be a siege there?" Asked Jiang Wanyin.
"It was your brother's den, forgot?" Spoke Jin Zixuan, and the usual scorn on Wanyin's face seemed to deepen at the sound of the older's voice. "They probably killed his right-hand-man before killing him.." the older added to his observation not bothering to look at the Jiang and in turn not realising the other's annoyance at his pure existence.
Nie Huaisang couldn't help but scan the room for a better seat. While Jin Ling couldn't help but wonder how come his uncle held such animosity toward his father as well.. wasn't it just Wei Daiju? jiujiu wasn't said to fight with him back than..
Hearing the others call Wen Ning’s name, Jin Ling’s blade, which originally pointed at the direction of the soul-consuming goddess, couldn’t help but to turn toward another direction. Seeing that he was distracted, the soul-consuming goddess gladly extended her arm and picked him up.
