Marie

Writers block, I'd never had one before. Normally when I'm writing, the stories usually sort of just pour out of me and I'd be writing for hours but now, now that my whole life is different, I'm stuck. No stories. No ideas. Just nothing.

"Marie Heart! You get down here right now before you miss target practice!" My father calls from downstairs.

Heart, the last name I was given and the thing no one in my family has. Should be more broken then heart.

I look at Ace, he is laying on his blanket on the floor. I go over and pet him kissing him on the head. He's tail wags and he licks me. "Hi buddy. Who's a good boy" I say in a weird high pitch voice.

"Marie Lacy Ariel Heart! Don't make me come up there!" I here him yell, I can hear the anger in his voice.

I run down stairs. "Sorry father, I'm ready" I tell him stopping in front of him. He looks at me not saying a word and walks to the door.

I follow, like usual silently and closely. We get in the car and the drive starts driving away. "The wedding is in a few months are you ready?" He says as nicely as he can, but he still sounds cold hearted. I'd personally be surprised if he had a heart.

"Yes father" I say as we pull up to where my lessons take place. I get out of the car quickly and get inside before he can ask anything else.

I walk in and I see him, standing there. His brown messy hair, tall figure, annoying face. I walk up to him. "Why are you here" I say coldly. "Same reason you are, princess" he says with a smug look on his face. "Stop calling me that" I say as I start walking away. I feel a strong hand wrap around my forearm. "Never" I feel his breath on my neck, it sends chills down my spine. "Princess" I feel his grip slip away and see him walk by.

I follow him, not by choice might I add. We get to where our instructor is waiting. "You are late" he says sternly. "Sorry, sir. Someone got here late" Cardan glares at me but both me and the instructor don't seem to care. "I don't care who got here when you both were here late" he walks over to a table with two pairs of noise canceling head phones and 2 guns.

I step out of the building and see a car, but instead of it being my usual driver it's another man. He looks strong and has a scare running down his left eye. He has no hair and his fists are white because of his hard grip on the stirring wheel.

I look around and see no one else, Cardan is speaking to the instructor inside. The man's brown almost black eyes look at me. I take a step back by instinct. I see him reach for the door handle and I take another step.

In one quick move he is out of the car and walking towards me. I trip over my shoe lace and fall to the ground.

The fear I feel doubles every time he steps closer to me. Soon he is standing right in front of me. I mange to get to my feet but his tall figure is still towering over mine. I try to scream but his hand quickly covers my mouth. I bite his hand but he doesn't move.

"Get in the car, Heart" he says his voice is deep and intimidating. I walk to the car scared of what he can do. The door to the building opens and Cardan comes out.

I get a both stupid and smart idea. "Cardan my dad told me we were taking you home." I say trying to keep my voice from shaking. "I'd rather walk then get in a car with you." He says rolling his eyes. I look at the man and then back at him my eyes pleading.

I don't know if he got the message or not but he gets in the car. I tie my seat belt and he does the same. The driver starts driving and looks in the mirror every few minutes.

He brings us both to my house and we get out. I quickly walk up to the door and step inside. "Thanks for closing the door on me princess" he says walking in behind me. "Oh shut up" I say walking to the kitchen.

He follows. Ace runs to me and I squat down to pet him. "Hi Ace" I say in the same high pitched voice as this morning. Cardan just stands there looking at me. "What are you scared of a puppy?" I say raising a brow. "No I'm not." He says annoyed. Ace runs to him barking and jumps up his front paws landing on his thighs.

He pets him as and Ace get off when my dad walks down the stairs. "Cardan, I wasn't expecting you." My dad says looking pleased. "Yes sir my car wasn't arriving so I decided to come here instead" he lies. "Well you are always welcomed" my dad says sort of smiling.

"Thank you sir" he says nodding slightly. "Marie why don't you bring him up to your room" my dad says glaring at me.

I roll my eyes and stand up.  And start walking up the stairs. "Oh wow I get to see your room, I'm honoured." He says sarcastically putting his hand over his heart. I roll my eyes. "Do you ever stop talking?" I ask annoyed.

"No" he answers proudly. Ace runs up in front of me and Cardan almost trips over him. I laugh not trying to hide it. "That's not funny" he rolls his eyes. "Yes it is" I say still laughing.

"Oh really?" He says smirking. I look at him. He runs to me and picks me up throwing me onto his shoulder. I scream and he laughs. "Put me down" I hit his back and kick my legs.

"Apologies and I will" he says as he starts walking up the stairs again
