I COULDN'T TELL YOU how long I spent in that infirmary. Clarisse really packed a punch. I was sitting there alone until Will Solace from cabin 7 came in to check on me. Being alone made me think about a lot of things like what Clarisse or my Dad would think about me right now , whether Annabeth was already asleep or reading, and what my mom would say. I usually try to avoid thoughts of my mom, but times like these make me wonder what she would think. Thankfully, I was pulled out of my thoughts by a bang outside and Annabeth's voice.

"He's the one, he must be"

"Silence annabeth, He's still conscious. Bring him inside."

Hearing that made me sit up straight away, which wasn't a good idea because my nose was still killing me, but I was so curious. "Who's the one and what happened?" It was dark, and I couldn't see much, but I could make out a boy being put into a bed. Curiosity got the best of me, so I walked over to where Annabeth was standing. "Who is he?" I asked. "He's the one, Val, the one I told you about," she replied. I looked her straight in the eyes, searching for any signs of her going crazy, but I couldn't find anything. "Annabeth, he's not the one. Let's let him be," I insisted, feeling exhausted and just wanting to sleep. "Fine, but I'm telling you, I'm right!" Annabeth retorted. "Are you done with that? I'm going to sleep," I mumbled before drifting off.

I really cared about Annabeth; she was like family to me. I just wanted to keep her safe. If this guy was really "the one," Annabeth might go on a quest without me. The thought of not being able to protect her when she needs it is scary. I worry about not being able to help her from monsters, like what happened to my mom. I know Annabeth could defend herself but it I still wanted to be with her at all times in case.

When I woke up, Annabeth was grilling the boy, who clearly wasn't prepared for it. I Finally got a good look at him. He had messy black hair, lots of cuts, which made me wonder why he looked so rough. Annabeth hadn't told me anything about what went down or how she knew he was the one. She was solely focused on getting information from him. I also noticed his sea-colored eyes of his that were so intense, almost gave me the creeps.

"Tell us about the summer solstice," Annabeth pressed. "What's been stolen? We only have a few weeks!" The boy struggled to speak before Annabeth heard a knock on the door and stuffed pudding in his mouth.

After the boy dozed off again, I made my way back to my cabin. On the way, I got some unfriendly looks from Aphrodite girls, chatting about my swollen nose and how it affected my appearance. Everyone passing by found it funny until a Hermes' kid decided to comment. That was my breaking point. I walked up to him and punched him directly in the nose, and joked, "Now we're twins," with a big grin before walking away. Just because I lose fights with Clarisse doesn't mean I will lose fights to other campers. They should've seen it coming, I am a daughter of ares.

Authors note: Sorry for another short chapter but we finally met percy!! aka the boy. As a daughter of ares i felt that the past few chapters didn't have enough ares like stuff in it but i thought the ending scene was perfect 😊 Okay chapter 4 soon
