The Worlds Not Safe Anymore

Detention.

3:30 pm
RING-RING-RING. The sound of the last bell rang and some of the students began to exit the school, while others stayed back for after-school activities. Skylar, Raelynn, Mayeve, and Krya went to detention.

As the girls go inside the classroom, Mayeve and Krya take the front two seats while Skyar and Raelynn take the back row. "Hand your phones over," Mrs. Applebottom exclaimed. Mayeve rolls her eyes as she hands over her phone "This is total bullshit." She mumbles. Krya reluctantly hands over the phone, while Skylar hands it over with no problem. When it is Raelynn's turn to hand over her phone she refuses "When was handing our phones over a requirement?" She asked. "You're in detention, and you won't be needing it." She exclaims while grabbing the phone. " Now you'll be able to retrieve your phones at 4:30 until then, do some work."

OUTSIDE ON THE BASKETBALL COURT

3:31 pm
As Jayla passes the ball, Myra goes in for a dunk and ends up falling onto the back of her head. The teammates rush over to her and help her up onto the closet seat. Coach Kevin runs over to Myras "Can you hear me." the coach exclaims. Myra places a hand on the back of her head and rubs it "My head." she says. When she brings her hands to her face she sees blood on her fingers. Coach Kevin gasps in horror. "I need to call for some help, Jayla and KJ help Myra to the nurse's office." He exclaims. Jayla and KJ grab Myra on both sides and help lead her to the nurse's office.

As they enter the office, the coach follows right behind them. "She fell on the concrete and the back of her head is bleeding!" Jayla says frantically. "I'm on the phone with the emergency services as we speak." the coach reassures the girls. They gently laid Myra down on one of the tables and placed a bag of ice on her forehead and some paper towels on the back of her head. About 15 minutes later, emergency services entered the nurse's office. "What took so long?" Coach Kevin asks. "The hospital is in complete chaos, multiple cases are coming in, and we are trying to get to everyone." "You wanna do our job for us?" Mia says rudely. Coach Kevin bites back from saying anything else. Jayla notices a black scratch on the paramedic arm. "What happened to your arm," she asks. "Happened when I was doing my job," Mia said in annoyance. Jayla rolled her eyes at her. The pulsing scratch is all black and nasty. Jayla and KJ look at the arm with disgust. One of the paramedics takes Myra's vitals, and her blood pressure, and asks her multiple questions about memory.

"We've decided to take her in," one of the paramedics says as they bring a stretcher out. "I'm gonna get in contact with her parents" the nurse exclaims. As the paramedics help Myra onto the stretcher the nurse joins in, while doing so Mia accidentally scratches the nurse. "We can't do our job if you are standing in the way," she exclaims. "What a asshole". The nurse thought. "Sorry," she says.

As they wheel Myra out, everyone returns to their respective places. While sitting at her desk, the nurse feels a tingling sensation on her arm, she looks and notices her veins are beginning to turn black and spread like the paramedics arm. She begins to agonize in pain.

BACK IN THE CLASSROOM

4:05 pm
RING-RING-RING. Mrs. Applebottom's classroom phone begins to ring. "You need help where?" "For Who?" The girls watch as Mrs. Applebottom's facial expressions change from confused to worried. She suddenly jumps out of her chair "There's an emergency, I'll be right back stay here."  She exclaims as she exits the classroom.

Silence gleams over the room. Raelynn breaks the silence by jumping out of her chair and going over to Mrs. Applebottom's desk, she grabs a hairpin out of her hair and fumbles with the lock. "Stop it, you'll get us in trouble," Kyra exclaims. "Why don't you mind your business." Raelynn barks. "Don't talk to her that way." Mayeve exclaims "Your and your dumbass team is the reason why were in here in the first place." "My dumbass team? We're in here because you cheerleaders think you, own everything." "Plus I shouldn't even be in here, your friend with the anger issues should be sitting right next to you," Raelynn screamed.

Skylar begins to chuckle, Mayeve looks back at her "What so funny?" She questions. "You in charge of laughter too queen bee" Skyler says with a chuckle. Mayeve rolls her eyes and puts her attention back on Raelynn "Like I said we're in here because of you." she scoffs.

The girls stop bickering once they hear scream coming from the hallway. They all looked each other and then back at the door. "We should check to make sure they're okay." Kyra says. "Yea, you guys go and do that." Raeylnn expressed. "We as in everyone, jockie." Mayeve says snarky "I bet it's just a stupid prank." She adds. Before Raeylnn can say anything another scream comes from the hallway, which causes all four girls to jump up.

Krya and Mayeve lead in the front while Raeylnn and Skylar are in the back. They slowly creep towards the door and while Krya reaches for the handle, the door immediately swings open and Mrs. Applebottoms runs in holding her neck while screaming. She falls to the ground.

The girls run over to her to help. As the teacher removes her hand from her neck, there's a big chuck of her neck missing and blood drip everywhere. "What the fuck!" Skylar says. "I think I'm going to be sick." Mayeve says as she gags. "Everyone stop, we need to get her help." Krya screams. "How when we have no access to our phones." Raelynn screamed. Skylar frantically runs to her backpack and pulls out a phone "No surprise that the delinquent has a spare."Mayeve scoffs. Skylar ignores her, she dials 911. Nothing. "It's keeps going to busy." She's screams. "Let me try." Mayeve says while snatching the phone. Nothing. "You thought it'd be different for you?" Skylar laughs. But she's cut off, from more screams throughout the hallway.

Krya runs to the door and closes it. "What are going to do?" She says sliding down crying. Mayeve runs over to comfort her. "It's ok Ky." Suddenly the teacher begins rise, she looks zoned out. Krya wipes her eyes, and walks over to her "Mrs. Applebottom?" She questions. Her eyes are a reddish-yellowish color and her neck is completely black. She then quickly looks at Krya, snarls and rushes towards her knocking her down. Mrs. Applebottom is on top of her trying to chomp at her, Kyra has her hands stretched out using all her strength to hold her back. Everyone begins screaming. "AHHHH- someone help me!" Kyra calls out.

Raeylnn pushes the teacher off her, and she flies onto one of the desk. She lookes at Raelynn and then chargers at her, but she dodges. Raelynn quickly grabs a chair, and when the teacher charges towards her again, she swings the chair and smacks her upside her head knocking the teacher onto the ground. She begins twitching on the ground. Raelynn huffs, but is knocked back down by the teacher. Mayeve quickly grabs a pair of scissors and smashes then into the teachers head. "Fucking die!" she screams. The teacher becomes limp, and Raeylnn throw her to the side and gets up. "You killed her." Krya says looking a the lifeless body on the floor. "She was attacking us, what else was I supposed to do?" Mayeve yelled. "Guys look!" Skylar screams out, everyone runs to her side. She turns on her phone, and clicks onto the news.

"This is channel 9 here, and there seems to be some type of virus that's causing people to attack one another. We advise everyone to stay indoors. I repeat do not go outside." Before the reporter can continue they're screams coming from the background and the screen goes static. Skylar puts her phone down and goes silent.

"My family." Kyra says with tears in her eyes. "What are we going to do?" she asks. Mayeve rushes towards her and comforts her. "We need to find help," Raelynn says. "I agree." Skylar adds. "How?" asks Kyra. "First lets start by getting our phones." Mayeve says. Raelynn gets a hair pick and goes back at the lock. All you can hear is endless screams coming from everywhere.
