CHAPTER FIVE

Don’t Walk Away from Me!

“I need you to get dressed and come with me,” Nate asked Kyle as he lit another cigarette, inhaling deeply. He was still feeling edgy.

“Where to?” Kyle asked as he smiled, showing he was happy to oblige.

“Out the back of my place, in the bush.” Nate exhaled smoke with every word he spoke. He shuffled on his feet, he was nervous and wanted to get moving.

“I’ll get in the shower then.” Kyle rose naked off the floor and turned to walk toward the bathroom but was stopped by Nate. His large hand gripped tightly around Kyle’s shoulder.

“I told you to get dressed, not to take a shower!” He scolded Kyle.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Kyle blushed with shame. “I’ll get dressed. Nate let go of Kyle’s shoulder so Kyle could quickly walk to his bedroom and put on his clothes, making sure the laces on his large black boots were done up tightly.

“Hurry up!” Nate yelled out before storming outside, slamming the door sharply behind him. After only seconds outside he checked the time on his phone and sighed with frustration. Hurry the fuck up, Kyle!

Nate stamped on the ground like an angry child before stomping to his pickup. The cold air had a sharp bite, especially when the wind blew.

Inside the cabin of the pick-up, Nate was hit again with emotions he found hard to deal with. He had momentarily forgotten about Kyle as thoughts of Matty Taylor filled his mind. Is Matty warm enough? Is he even still out there to be found, if so, why had he left him? Had the Alien messed with his past love? He became angry at himself for caring and punched the steering wheel! He was angry that he still even cared. His skin crawled as a single tear rolled out of his right eye. Nate wiped it away and barely composed himself as Kyle ran up to the passenger door of Nate's truck, and jumped inside, before quickly closing the car door behind him.

Kyle gave Nate a Fake smile while wondering how many times Matty Taylor had done the same thing, before speaking. “Let’s Go!” He encouraged Nate. Kyle also knew for no real reason, that Nate was angry at him.

Nate fired up his pickup’s engine, put it into gear, and backed out of Kyles driveway before speeding back to his cabin, back towards his grotesque discovery in the clearing deep in the forest. Again, Nate was a man that hated to waste time!

After a silent drive back to Nate’s place, the couple stood at the edge of the bushland. An unnatural emptiness filled the landscape, as if it were void of life, giving it a surreal feeling. Nothing felt real anymore to Nate, while Kyle was oblivious to this feeling. He staired at Nate, taking in his masculine features, like his chiseled jaw line. He wanted him, for more than just sex. In a move of affection Kyle put his arm around Nate to shield him from the deathly wind. He was disappointed when he felt Nate’s mussels tense.

This embrace did make Nate uncomfortable, and he quickly wriggled his way out of it. To him Kyle was a good fuck but not someone he intended to share any real intimacy with, not like he had with Matty anyway.

“You found something in the bush, didn’t you?” Nate let out a long deep breath before answering.

“Yes…Maybe…I’m not sure.” It was unusual for Nate not to be sure about what he was saying.

Nate, flustered, searched in his pockets for his zippo lighter, lit yet another smoke and sighed. It was also unusual for Nate to show his nerves. Nerves that were very quickly becoming frayed.

Nate stepped into the bushland, quickly followed by Kyle. The landscape was cold, free from the freezing wind, but still cold. Devoid of life and energy.

“Where are you taking me and what am I going to see when we get there?” Kyle wanted to know. The last thing that Kyle wanted to see was the corpse of Matty Taylor.

“I Think I know what happened to Matty” Nate answered with an odd tone of sadness.

“Nate, stop walking.” Kyles request was ignored, and Nate continued to march through the thick undergrowth of shrubs. “Nate please!” Nate was not going to stop so Kyle had to run over the ruff ground of rocks and logs to catch up.

“What the fuck are you bitching about!” Nate turned, pissed off, his face had become red. “Just fucking follow me will you. Oh, and shut the fuck up!” Nate then spat on the forest floor. It caught in a fern frond and slowly dripped to the ground.

“Sorry.” Kyle mumbled between breaths.

“You won’t believe me, well not properly, unless I show you.” Kyles apology helped Nate cool off a little. It was Kyle’s submission that really helped.

Nate retrieved his phone from the back pocket of his jeans and unlocked the screen, after which he loaded the video footage he had recorded of the Doctor and his followers, their camp and of course, sexual antics. Nate handed the phone to Kyle, who took it with a shaky hand and pressed play. While Kyle began to watch the video, Nate searched again for his smokes, and distinguished lighter. He found his cigarettes quickly, but the lighter was gone. Nate double checked his pockets again but had no luck. He had dropped it somewhere in the bush. To find it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Instantly Nate was in another raging mood.

Kyle looked horrified as he watched the footage on the phone. He was hurt, confused, and somewhat afraid. He was also angry!

“This is sick Nate! Why are you showing me this?” Kyles eyes filled with tears as he tossed Nate’s phone back to him. Suddenly he no longer wanted to be deep in the wilderness with Nate.

“What the fuck do you mean?” Nate demanded to know as he looked at the video for himself.

His jaw dropped as well when he saw the film. There was no evidence of the Alien, A.K.A Dr Lestor Drake. Instead, it showed both he and Matty Taylor, naked, bareback fucking on the back of the black colt that Drake had fucked his young lover on.

“This is impossible…” Nate did not complete his sentence as he was to distracted by what he was watching. “This is not right. Matty is dead!” he then proclaimed.

“How do you know he is dead Nate?” I thought you said he took off after you and he had an argument.” Kyle felt the chill of terror creep over his body, colder than the freezing temperature of the bush.

“Are you accusing me of murdering the man I loved?” Nate began to foam at the mouth as he shouted at Kyle.

“I don’t know what I think anymore, I’m out of here!” Kyle announced before turning his back on Nate and walking away.

“Don’t you walk away from me!” Nate screamed as he bent down and picked up and large stone. With all his strength he threw it at the back of Kyles head. The rock hit its target and Kyle collapsed, unconscious.
